My gut feel is no as it's uneccesary journey but....

The roads are quieter and i desperately need to learn to drive for career progression?

Still a no though? I think no but the thought just occurred to me

No.

SmileEachDay · 14/04/2020 21:52

🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

MyBabyBoyBlue · 14/04/2020 21:52

What PP said.

Verily1 · 14/04/2020 21:53

I think it’s probably going to be a no.

hesgotit · 14/04/2020 21:53

Don't be ridiculous! Will you be two meters away from the instructor?

Lynda07 · 14/04/2020 21:53

No unless you live with the driving instructor and he/she is furloughed.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 14/04/2020 21:53

It's a No from Me

starrynight19 · 14/04/2020 21:53

Wow really no Hmm

MeerkatMolly · 14/04/2020 21:53

No.

Macncheeseballs · 14/04/2020 21:55

Do you mean with family member

Butchyrestingface · 14/04/2020 21:55

I failed a test before lockdown and the roads are ideally quiet but

  1. this is non-essential travel
  2. even if you use a family member as an instructor rather than a professional instructor, see point 1 above
  3. all tests have been cancelled.
stuckindoors77 · 14/04/2020 21:56

Have you found a driving instructor willing to take you? Or do you just mean practise sessions with a member of your household?

DonnaDarko · 14/04/2020 21:56

Driving instructors have been advised not to conduct lessons so I'd be really surprised if you found any working right now.

Palegreenstars · 14/04/2020 21:59

I feel your pain. After ££££ of lessons I was two weeks from taking my test and am definitely the sort of driver that needs to get out every few days to keep at the right level to pass.

But still no.

freddiethegreat · 14/04/2020 22:02

My son had a lesson booked for the day after lockdown was announced. Cancelled, obviously.

Splitsunrise · 14/04/2020 22:03

Obviously not!

SleepingStandingUp · 14/04/2020 22:06

I assume you mean a household member taking you out for lessons? Not a paid professional?
Still no.
Every car in the road increases the risk of an accident which means an increased risk of landing I na clovid-ridden hospital and pressure on the nhs

switswoo81 · 14/04/2020 22:07

No my dad is a driving instructor and he hasn't given a lesson since 15th March. Roads are quieter but I have found many on the roads are driving with less care as they are so.quiet.

LumaLou · 14/04/2020 22:07

No

Waxonwaxoff0 · 14/04/2020 22:10

I doubt any instructors will be working at the moment, they'd get in trouble.

Boulshired · 14/04/2020 22:10

Not even sure if insurance would cover any accident.

Choice4567 · 14/04/2020 22:10

Nobody is teaching driving lessons and all tests are suspended. Unless you mean going out to practice with a member of your household?

FloreanFortescue · 14/04/2020 22:13

No because if you were in an accident you'd be using valuable NHS staff who could really do without you being there.

ReallyLoveChickens · 14/04/2020 22:17

Really?

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 14/04/2020 22:17

I'd have said no.
Seeing as
A) We're supposed to be social distancing. Getting in a car with a driving instructor sitting right next to you, how are you supposed to do that, then?
B) Are you related to driving instructor, seeing as we're not supposed to be mixing households?
C) Non essential travel, regardless of "but but the roads are quieter."

YABU!
