I had an appt quite a few years ago at the clinic in regents park.
Aibu that I was awful at it. I was soooooo embarrassed and ashamed, I kept on expelling out the tube, I think it was when gas came out.
We had to give up in the end and I had to go to their loo and stand up and down trying to get all the water out of my bowel. I didn't get my money back.
So gross. Has anyone succeeded at it.

I did it for a while. Had to schlepp quite a few miles to get there.

One time I freaked right out because there was a bit of brown on my stomach

I agree that sounds like nonsense, no way would anywhere that does the procedure professionally have that happen.

gamerchick · 14/04/2020 21:11

You want us to talk about poo?

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 14/04/2020 21:13

I agree with @ElementalIllusion

PicsInRed · 14/04/2020 21:17

Few poo threads tonight eh...

Hello there, OP.

Haven't seen you for a while.

rwalker · 14/04/2020 21:19

you did know what a colnic was before you booked it supposed you were embarrassed

speakout · 14/04/2020 21:20

Is it a competitive sport?

LilyMumsnet · 14/04/2020 21:23

Hi folks

A lot of reports coming in about this one - just wanted to let you know that the OP has been around for many years. Please report concerns, rather than troll-hunt on threads.

wholelottahistory · 14/04/2020 21:24

Yes I knew what it was when i booked. It was the place princess di went supposedly.
I didn't know I'd be so embarrassed otherwise I wouldn't have tried it.
I felt like an oversized baby.
Just wondered if I was alone or if others have succeeded with it.
Dont especially want to talk about poo, just the experience of this procedure.

Why?????????

Doingtheboxerbeat · 14/04/2020 21:30

I have been very tempted to try this but I heard it messes with your good bacteria. Also, as this is Mumsnet and I would think that it was populated with mostly women who have had periods and some have even given birth Shock, what's with all the eww?

wholelottahistory · 14/04/2020 21:30

I was looking on insta and a clinic came up. (Dont search it if you are squeamish) then I thought, do I have an intestinal parasite, shall I get it done again?
I fell down a rabbit hole and came on here to ask about experiences to see why I was so weird I couldn't do it right.

I had it several times about 15 years ago. That was also just prior to the time that I began to suffer with IBS.

Coincidence?

HollowTalk · 14/04/2020 21:52

If you think you have a parasite, see your doctor ffs.

Yellredder · 14/04/2020 22:07

I used to have it to help deal with my IBS. Not needed it for years as it helped me to get it under control.

Shockers · 15/04/2020 07:39

I don’t understand why people come onto threads that they don’t want to read!

Henrysmycat · 15/04/2020 07:43

Considering how important your gut and your gut health is, “washing” it like it’s a toe rag it’s ridiculous and rather unhealthy too.

Mawbags · 15/04/2020 07:45

I had a great one in Shepherd’s Bush. She told my I had a lot of sugar in my bowels. I went home and slept for hours.

About six months later my gp told men I was prediabetic

Mawbags · 15/04/2020 07:47

Sorry pressed send to fast...

That was 20 years ago.

Not sure I’d do it again given what I understand about gut bacteria.
