Is anyone else watching this?! He is literally ranting like a man possessed, I've never seen anything like it. He's declared war on the media (I know we're used to him lashing out at journalists but this is on another level)

I'm watching it on CNN and they have breaking news straplines like "Trump uses task force briefing to rewrite history on coronavirus response", "Angry Trump turns briefing into propaganda session" and "Angry Trump uses propaganda video, produced by government employees at taxpayers' expense"

He has just said, verbatim: "When somebody is President of the United States, that authority is total"

I thought our daily briefings were bullshit Shock

Did he actually talk for a full fifteen minutes on how amazing his ventilator stock is?

Desmondo2016 · 14/04/2020 23:44

Sorry for my barrage of posts. Ive never given him the time of day before and I'm truly gobsmacked tonight. I'm quite alarmed by him tbh.

eddiemairswife · 14/04/2020 23:47

He just rambles on and on and on.

AnnofPeeves · 14/04/2020 23:48

He's absolutely unhinged. Have said it before, but you can spot the moments he goes off script, his language descends into the language of a child's.

We've been watching him for weeks on CNN, its fascinating as they run banners underneath with, shall we say, a slightly more realistic point of view.

KrakowDawn · 14/04/2020 23:49

I'm so glad that the president of Mexico has shown great dexterity.
[weeps]

Parker231 · 14/04/2020 23:50

He’s such a poor speaker. It’s all one long sentence - no wonder he can’t cope with the press interrupting him. His train of thought is appalling.

This time he really has messed up - hopefully the electorate won’t forgive him in November.

superoz · 14/04/2020 23:52

Blaming the WHO? What the actual F.
I usually don’t bother with his rantings but this takes the biscuit.

Triglesoffy · 14/04/2020 23:55

Bollocks, I’m not on the list of names that he is reading out. I have been a terrific friend. And I am an incredible person and I can talk about things that are very important to a lot of people. I can give Trump some ideas.

PatchworkElmer · 14/04/2020 23:56

Absolutely awful. He is not the leader that America needs right now. Or at any time, for that matter...

AnnofPeeves · 14/04/2020 23:57

Has he mentioned 'Chy-nah' yet? Btw, if you think this is gob smacking, just wait until he gets challenged by the reporters. That's when he starts to get nasty usually. I think most people have no idea of what he's really like, but the CV conferences have really shone a light on him.

As for him reopening the States, he simply doesn't have the power to do that, despite what he said last night. Love that he's saying tonight that he will authorise the governors to reopen the States, he can't do that either, but some people won't know that so he's saved his orange face.

Screamingontheinside · 14/04/2020 23:58
Shock
TinklyLittleLaugh · 14/04/2020 23:58

Absolutely terrifying. The man is an idiot.

AnnofPeeves · 14/04/2020 23:58

Ps you can watch it on CNN here edition.cnn.com/tv/watch/live-2

Their insight is fascinating.

BubblesBuddy · 14/04/2020 23:59

He’s withholding money from the WHO now. He doesn’t agree with them so no more money until they review what they have said (which is code for agree with him!)

Parker231 · 15/04/2020 00:04

From the BBC

"The plans to reopen the country are close to being finalised," says Trump, and could be even earlier than 1 May.

"I will be speaking to all 50 governors very shortly and I will be authorising each individual governor of each individual state to implement a plan" to open, he says, "at a time and manner that is most appropriate".

"The day will be very close," he pledges, saying that over 20 states are "in completely good shape and we think we’re going to get them open quickly".

"The federal government will be watching them closely. We will hold governors accountable but will be working with them to make sure it goes really well."

Trump has been feuding with governors over who has the right to end lockdowns.

Experts agree it's the state governors who are responsible for policing their states under US law.

Voice0fReason · 15/04/2020 00:09

Even more what the fuck than normal!
He is impossible to listen to.
He doesn't stop talking yet he says nothing - how is that even possible?

AnnofPeeves · 15/04/2020 00:11

He just called someone asking a question a loudmouth.....

KrakowDawn · 15/04/2020 00:13

Oh, @Voice0fReason, have you never met a five year old? Grin

WhereYouLeftIt · 15/04/2020 00:23

Presumably he think if he attacks someone else's handling of the pandemic we'll all forget how shit his handling of it has been (and continues to be).

GreenTulips · 15/04/2020 00:27

He doesn't stop talking yet he says nothing - how is that even possible?

My thoughts exactly

Was he actually present in any of these meetings?

BruceAndNosh · 15/04/2020 00:36

He could have just walked in and whined "it's not my faulllllllt" for an hour.

Blubelle7 · 15/04/2020 00:42

He doesn't surprise me anymore, his ignorance, lack of intelligence, unbreakable confidence are testament to what money can buy you and a sad indictment on how we choose our leaders.

What scares me is the people defending him or constantly looking to explain his outbursts and weird theories, it is so irresponsible to have that Carol woman on Loose women supporting him everyday and trying to legitimise everything he says and whitewash his racist comments and lunacy

TheSparklyPussycat · 15/04/2020 00:43

In the Monday briefing he offered "warm condolences"Confused

JazzyTheDog · 15/04/2020 01:11

Hoping this image attaches, it says it all Smile
