AIBU to ask you for your cures for indigestion / heartburn . Currently 20 weeks pregnant and I’ve never felt discomfort like this. I can feel baby girl moving round I think she’s probably pressing on something but it started last night and hasn’t gone away, struggling to eat as I feel full etc the pain is just awful. I’m not keeled over in pain and it’s not worrying me baby wise but it really is making me feel sick. Any tips on how I can manage it ? If it’s still bad tomorrow I might ring my midwife at the GP practice tomorrow if I can’t get on top of it .
First time mum and thankful I’ve never had this pain before pregnancy but my god please help !

It’s weird as my indigestion isn’t causing me reflux which is making me now wonder whether it is actually indigestion . Still here this morning despite taking gaviscon last night . I’ve just rang the gp surgery and the lady was quite rude and just said call back tomorrow as my midwife isn’t it ! Helpful!

Live Yogurt. Loads and loads of it.

I ended up with burnt vocal chords and throat from the reflux when pregnant with DC2, it gave me a constant cough which made me pass small drips of urine every time I coughed, was very dignified.

One day I was in all fours coughing up acid into the toilet whilst coughing and peeing myself onto a huge pile of towels, completely naked and the doctor DH had called, a lovely Indian man, came in and tapped me on the shoulder and said I need to drink live yogurt, gallons of the stuff, he said British people didn't know the power of yogurt 🤷🏻‍♀️

There’s no ranitidine about. I tried in boots and the chemist said. A colleague who suffers from heartburn and reflux due to gall bladder suggested apple juice as (she said) it’s alkaline and neutralises acid. Does work for me. I just hate it.

Avoid citrus, cooked tomatoes, fizzy drinks, and sleep propped up. Speak to your GP about a proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole
Small snack type meals more regularly is often better.

Omeprazole, amazing stuff. Before I was prescribed it I was waking up choking at night and couldn't even bend as far as to lift the loo seat without acid coming up. Omeprazole sorted it almost immediately.

Get some Nexium, you’ll be able to get it at the supermarket. You just need to take one tablet daily.

I had awful heartburn that lasted all throughout my pregnancy. I found (and still do) Remegel amazing. My hubby now takes it for his gastric reflux
My GP was due to see me to prescribe something but i ended up giving birth. The heartburn relief was instantaneous!!!

A doctor once told me Refreshers (yes the sweets!) work wonders. I never tried it but must be worth a shot!
