My husband and I are currently seperated. I have had to self isolate as I am highly vulnerable and am contacting my 2yr old though Whatsapp video chat. We agreed days of contact, but my DS is missing his mum. I asked ex if I could contact daily but he said no. I have text my ex daily to ask how our DS is and today he replied to stop harrassing him. Am I being unreasonable?

No I don't think so. Calls and videos can be a pain when you're doing something else and the phone goes or whatever but there's no harm in him putting your dc in the high chair and propping the phone up so you can see each other. He doesn't have to hold the phone does he?

If your DS is missing you is it possible that seeing you on video is upsetting for him?

Tbf if it was a man expecting daily phone calls with his children he would be told he was BU (I've seen it on here before)

If our DS is running around then yes he does hold the phone. But most of the time if hes playing Lego or his toys/having his tea then he props the phone up and he goes off or sits down. I understand its a pain for him but my hours of seeing our DS has been drastically reduced.

I asked my ex for daily contact with our DS as he gets upset when the conversation has ended. My interaction with our DS is every other day so its broken rather than fluent interaction. As the goverment website has indicated to stay in touch through face time etc. Im not expecting hours and hours but surely I can text him and ask how he is? I dont know maybe I am being unreasonable. Just wanted to know how he was.

Hi thanks for your reply. If this self-isolation hadnt have happened my DS would be with me on the days I am due to have him, but seen as this is unprecedented times its kind of thrown everything up in the air
