"I know you're all working extremely hard but can you please complete yet another spreadsheet to confirm exactly how hard you are working, how much it is costing and/or exactly how many minutes you have spent completing repetitive and largely pointless virus-related spreadsheets since I last contacted you less than about three minutes ago"

This may be specific to my workplace. But I couldn't possibly say it out loud there on account of "we're all in this together" (aaaargh!!!)

JCSAR · 14/04/2020 20:58

I hate the phrase self isolation, I said to my husband the other day it’s just become a thing everyone is saying and it’s just not something anyone would normally say and now it’s been put in the dictionary!!! I also hate the word Coronavirus, Covid-19, the new normal, the world will never be the same again Hmm just anything at all to do with the whole situation.

Rainbow pictures with "everything will be OK" first seen whilst loved FIL and children's much loved grandad was in ICU, still see them. He has since lost the battle and NO everything will not be OK. Not for my DC and not for my devastated husband.
Would also like to add "underlying illness" high blood pressure was FILs but otherwise active. Feels like an excuse.. Only reason he died. Nope. his body was overwhelmed by virus.

PinkPanther27 · 14/04/2020 21:36

There's no flour

raviolidreaming · 14/04/2020 22:14

Peak
It's a virus not a bacteria (We know! Shut up!)
Death tolls
Competitive washing of shopping / placing deliveries in quarantine (although I would like to know if the poster who said they hung things from the washing line was joking or not)
#stayhomesavelives
Anyone with a massive house and garden and all the toys saying that it's not a challenge to stay home with young children.

Popc0rn · 14/04/2020 23:14

@lionsandwhales
Sorry to hear about your father in law.
Flowers "underlying health conditions" is a horrible phrase now. Hate hearing it on the news.

WhatTheFuckSusan · 14/04/2020 23:37

Genuinely had never heard the word furlough until a few weeks ago

Daftodil · 14/04/2020 23:52

"We're doing the Joe Wicks workout... are you?" (No. 8 months pregnant, looking after a toddler and working. Jumping up and down for an hour does not feature in my daily plans!)

"My neighbour keeps doing x, y, z"

"People are so selfish" (because they want to go to a supermarket when I want to go so I had to queue/ because they are going for a bike ride at a time I would like the streets to be entirely deserted...
