I've posted a few months ago but this is updated.
I was friends with a girl for over 13 years spoke daily but she was always a bit sneaky and put me down to others etc.
Anyway she has a group of friends which include men.
She invited me out and me and one of her guy friends hit it off.
We ended up kissing on a night out after she told him I fancied him.
After she realised we liked each other and wasn't just a one night thing she changed.
Started telling him I was a psycho, that he should avoid me.
He asked her if he should take me on a date and she told him no it wasn't the correct time.
After all of that didn't work she stopped speaking to me and told her group of friends If they invited me out she wouldn't be there.
So they stopped inviting me and he eventually stopped speaking with me as he said it was too complicated.
She basically did all of this to stop us getting together.
I seen her a few weeks ago.
I asked why ? After all them years.
She smirked and said .."awww does he not want nothing more to do with you..unlucky"
She is in her 30s.

Am I being unreasonable to think she did this to keep us getting together?
Would she really do that for this reason?

She’s an absolute jealous spiteful bitch and she’s no friend of yours OP. Drop her- you don’t need people this that in your life Flowers

WorraLiberty · 12/04/2020 20:38

Sorry, which part is the update?

It's obvious she did it to stop you getting together Confused

BacklashStarts · 12/04/2020 20:39

What a cow - you’re well rid. Block and ignore.

PlanDeRaccordement · 12/04/2020 20:41

I am amazed that you think a girl you have known to put you down for 13yrs was ever considered your “friend”
She’s not your friend, never has been. Yes she set you up with a guy she knew you would like and then ruined it just for her own amusement.
She’s toxic and manipulative.

KarmaStar · 12/04/2020 20:53

Block her and hold your head up high.
If he can't see through her spite he is not worthy op.
Karma was watching and once she's finished sharpening her nails I'm sure she will catch up with your ex 'friend'.
Get yourself a new, decent group of real friends.

Bananacloud · 12/04/2020 21:01

Wow she sounds batshit fuckin crazy!!

primeexampleof · 12/04/2020 21:03

I had a 'friend' like this.
I stopped being her friend.

Nostradamuswept · 12/04/2020 21:08

She’s a cunt. Don’t waste your time on trying to work out her motivation, likely she’s just that nasty that she found it amusing and a power trip to build you up and then kill your new relationship.
If it’s any consolation people like that don’t tend to have a happy ending, their machinations catch up with them and once their true colours show, their “friends” realise how much they were manipulated and get rid very quickly.

Louiselouie0890 · 12/04/2020 21:09

My cousin did this to me. Told him I was on drugs and tried it kn with him. He didnt believe her came to see for himself and how were happily married with children. Domt really understand why the guy needed her permission to be honest

springydaff · 12/04/2020 21:15

Wow! She's the psycho.

Keep WELL away from her xx

Louisesp82 · 12/04/2020 21:45

I had a friend like this in the past..quite manipulative and took delight in putting me down. We started meeting up again a couple of years ago on a few occasions..the last time we met, I felt she purposefully made me feel uncomfortable with a sarcastic retort - the dynamics would never have changed, and there is no need to accept the pointless negativity

LagunaBubbles · 12/04/2020 21:48

Of course she did it to stop you getting together, I'm amazed you even have to ask!

Hannah021 · 12/04/2020 21:52

Darling, if the guy liked you and wanted you... No man force will separate you... He just found an excuse or is just immature and not really serious...

Forget them both... Better off without them

ashleypo · 12/04/2020 23:09

At first she thought it would be a one night thing.
Then she seen how well we got on and did like each other and she hated it.
She knew he hated jealous girls and she tried to paint me out as that person.
I rang her when it first happened to chat.
She just started screaming and then told him I was the one screaming.
She's so manipulative
He believed her over me tho so what can you do.
