Anyone else sick of all the competitive #happydays in lockdown social media threads

I know I’m being unreasonable and I am very close to deleting my social media but I’m so fed up of sickly posts about all the ‘fun’ people are having at the moment. The most recent ones that have tipped me over the edge is the camping out, toasting marshmallows hurrah. Along with the #winging it homeschooling posts which make me and probably others feel terrible. I’m trying to work from home and entertain the dc. DH is a key worker so out to work as normal. Just wanted to know if it’s just me and I’m a dreadful person.

If they were sat around singing Kumbaya (badly spelt I expect) at the same time, I'd go around and torch their tent.

I think people are trying to make the best of it but it is bloody irritating I saw a singing family on facebook the other day and just thought oh piss off 😮

Lockdowngrinch · 12/04/2020 11:07

@Mrsjayy me too!

I didn't feel like this 2 weeks ago. Things like that made me smile but now I find it all so nauseatingBlush

It is ok to be weary and bad tempered about it all i just grump and tut ! Ive hidden a family member they live abroad and telling us to stay home whilst her kids splash about their swimming pool and they sup cocktails,normally I "like" their updates but now I am over them tbh.

ilikebooksandplants · 12/04/2020 12:00

It was fun at first to see how everyone was coping with lockdown but now it’s just tedious and there’s no fucking end in sight. I am bored out of my mind with it all.

Outtedagain · 12/04/2020 12:04

It’s not real . It’s fake news folks. I know someone who posts twee things regularly and yet when I speak to them they are bored and fed up too.

MarieQueenofScots · 12/04/2020 12:05

Your social media can work for your.

YABU to moan when the answer is literally in your hands.

Crackerscheesescabbyknees · 12/04/2020 12:05

Oh soften up, OP. Everyone is having to stay in and teach their awful bastard children and manage their workload. Let them pretend to be happy on SM.

Mrsjayy · 12/04/2020 14:14

I think it is fine for the op to have a bit of an anonymous .moan on Mumsnet .she knows how Sm works and how to hide things.#grumpymoo Grin
