To rather read than watch a video??

Videos (or whatever the trendy name for them is) are so slow, I'm fed up with having to watch a video for a news report or information etc, I can scan and read much quicker however feel that I am a dying breed. Any one else find videos annoying?

I do - I skip past & find a written version.

I also hate bloody video’s at exhibitions - information boards please!

YANBU. This especially bothers me when I'm trying to get news from various sources. I'd much rather read it than sit through a video that takes far longer to watch, often glitches, and sometimes doesn't even contain any information and is just footage!

I'm deaf and have to read subtitles anyway. Give written information any day. Online video too often has crap/no subtitles too.

Yes! I particularly hate this for instructions / FAQs. We use a piece of software at work and almost their entire advice centre is video format. I do not want to watch an 11 minute video to realise it didn't answer my query! Write the information down properly so I can scan through and see if it is what I need. Grrr.

Definitely, be it news, instructions or fiction.

I've lost count of the times I've said 'No but I've read it' in answer to the question 'Have you watched/seen xxx?).

Often years previously - but if I like the sound of a film, or a recommendation sounds good, I look to see if it is avaialable as an electoronic book for kindle
