After a break for a while I'm back here and expected it to be super busy but seems quieter and the topics a bit more stale.

Are people just getting on well now in lockdown?

WTF? Are you on Glue?

nahowe · 11/04/2020 18:41

Yes I ate a prit stick. did you mean to be so rude?

ErrolTheDragon · 11/04/2020 18:51

Everyone who has a garden has been gardening, I think.

HackAttack · 11/04/2020 22:20

I was sunbathing and doing DIY

eurochick · 11/04/2020 22:24

The posters are all out in long socially distant walks...

Tbh I think there is less to chat about. People aren't moving their cars much so there are no parking dispute, there are no school runs so no school mum spats. There seems to be very little news beyond Coronavirus. Most people aren't at work so don't have complaints about how Sarah from accounts is being a twat. People aren't even talking much about clothes and hair as they seem a bit pointless when you can't go out.

Oysterbabe · 11/04/2020 22:25

We can't see our MILs.

bettybattenburg · 11/04/2020 22:27

There's plenty going on but it's on threads where people regularly post about specific interests I think - books, gardening, that kind of stuff.

PardonWhat · 11/04/2020 22:27

I agree. It’s quieter than I’ve ever known it. Like a PP said - we’ve all got fuck all to discuss Confused

ScorpionQueen · 11/04/2020 22:39

There are still plenty of rude people though, as the first response demonstrates well.
Hmm
But yes, not much going on at all. No cheeky fuckers at National Trust properties, workplace dramas, school gate issues or anything. I'd love a parking thread with diagrams about now.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/04/2020 22:41

Theres are plenty of cooking and gardening discussions.

Iwantacookie · 11/04/2020 22:51

yes I ate a pritt stick

Grin

That made me snort

user1473878824 · 11/04/2020 23:11

tinkly laugh oh I’ve been bathing in sour dough starter and learning Mandarin.

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 12/04/2020 00:09

All weddings and hen nights have been postponed
No one can see MILS
No school gate drama
No one can be bothered with style and beauty because no ones going anywhere and it's non-essential purchasing

I am surprised that the tv addict / streaming section isn't getting a lot more threads

AmelieTaylor · 12/04/2020 00:12

Maybe they're all taking asvantage of this...

pillowtalkey · 12/04/2020 02:56

@oysterbabe 😂😂😂😂

araiwa · 12/04/2020 03:40

People are voting with their feet after MNs ill considered cashgrab

Topseyt · 12/04/2020 03:47

Well, almost the only topic is Coronavirus, and that is getting very same-ish now.

Then there was the request for subscriptions, which might be killing it a bit now.

Topseyt · 12/04/2020 03:49

Ah yes, no MILs unless they are breaking the lockdown rules.

Smurfy23 · 12/04/2020 03:49

@araiwa whats the cash grab?

BrooHaHa · 12/04/2020 03:51

@AmelieTaylor That's really interesting- I didn't know the plural of ignoramus was ignoramus. I'd have gone for ignorami, were I forced to guess.

araiwa · 12/04/2020 04:03

Mn premium- £5 a month for an edit post button lmao

Thepigeonsarecoming · 12/04/2020 04:11

@nahowe mumsnet is all about policing people’s shopping lists now, if you don’t join in you’ll be on a watchlist. I know this because my aunts, friends, dog walker told me!

WhatTiggersDoBest · 12/04/2020 04:54

My SIL sent me a mother's day card which was just utterly bonkers because I'm obviously not her mother, I didn't marry my own son in some odd Oedipal ceremony of weirdness. Maybe I should have started an AIBU for craic but I've no idea what my AIBU would be. Grin

WhatTiggersDoBest · 12/04/2020 04:55

(on the topic of things being quiet and no in-laws threads going on)

Cissyandflora · 12/04/2020 05:13

Do you remember when any poster mentioning corona would get angrily told they should post on a different board. I’m glad all that has stopped.
