When we are all on lockdown, all of us confined to our houses and gardens, why do some people think that the whole fucking neighborhood wants to listen to their music blasting out all afternoon? Utter, selfish twats.

Someone posted on our local Facebook group a shout-out to the person blaring the music down our road, thanking them for the great music and distraction. The guy then replied saying that he'd do it every day since it was so popular. Argh!!!

BlackLambAndGreyFalcon · 11/04/2020 18:53

I've been enjoying the nice weather in my garden while listening to the classic FM hall of fame countdown in my garden. Music not blaring, but loud enough so that I could hear it.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 11/04/2020 18:55

totally agree

I'm lucky to have access to a roof garden, but it is surrounded by tower blocks, although all a good 50m away - but this afternoon a cacophony of noise ranging from a tinny "itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini" (endlessly) through blur, thudding dance music to garage.

I am just thankful I don't live physically next door to the noisy shits. it would drive me bonkers.

If I can't find my noise cancelling headphones, I have some earplugs somewhere.

BaileysforBreakfast · 12/04/2020 08:20

BlackLamb
Maybe your 'not blaring' is another person's annoyance, especially if they're also trying to enjoy their own gardens. Loud enough for you to hear it probably means loud enough for others to hear it too.

flumposie · 12/04/2020 08:27

We have someone here who is the most selfish neighbour. Last 2 days music blaring from the morning until the evening. She does not give a shit. And her music is shite.

PardonWhat · 12/04/2020 08:31

I don’t blast my music in the garden. However it really doesn’t bother me when a neighbour does. It’s nice to hear people enjoying themselves.

slipperywhensparticus · 12/04/2020 08:34

Someone gave there child a microphone

Baaaa baaaaa black sheep AV YOU ANY (long snotty intake of breath which sounds like someone getting the last bit of milkshake out the glass) Wooooooool and repeat because the child doesnt know the fucking words drove my cats mad for a few days

TabbyMumz · 12/04/2020 08:41

My nighbour does this every sunny day there is. It's always dead miserable music too. Yesterday her boyfriend came round, and her daughter had friends round. People who do this sort of thing just dont care.

Myownwendyhouse · 12/04/2020 09:04

Yes mine. But. I overheard they are splitting up and selling the house. Best news I have had in weeks

limebedding · 12/04/2020 09:08

It sounds like lots of people live near some anti social people.

I wonder if I would be classed as one of them?

This weekend I have pressure washed my patio, had the kids in our garden all day everyday, they play together and hoot and holler like primary aged children do, quieten down for 5 minutes when reminded but soon get excited again. There are kids a couple of houses down who shout over the fences to my two, I've encouraged mine to just say hello back and to keep their voices at a talking volume instead of yelling back at them. I don't think we've had music on, but I do play music in my house and garden.

I hear other people's music but am not bothered by it, I wouldn't describe it as blasting out though, so perhaps the volume is different.

Oh and dh has repaired a broken shed panel using an electric drill and hammer.

Phone the police, my house is anti social! Blush

BaileysforBreakfast · 12/04/2020 11:03

limebedding TBF, you do sound like a pretty inconsiderate neighbour, unless everyone in your street behaves like this?

Personally, I blame Kirsty and Phil for all the garden music. They've been telling people to turn their gardens into entertainment areas for years now. Fuck the neighbours.

Macncheeseballs · 12/04/2020 11:09

Black lamb - why not wear headphones

Carpathian2 · 12/04/2020 12:05

My neighbours are like this every weekend, even before lockdown. There's the pressure washer going on for ages, lawn mower and strimmer everyday ( the garden isn't that big so I don't know what they're cutting! ). Constant DIY that involves drilling and banging, and now they're building a conservatory ( this is madness as our houses are social housing, but that's another thread).

I'll breathe a sigh of relief when they go back to work on Tuesday and we can have some peace. It seems like they just can't chill out!

TheLowry · 12/04/2020 13:16

Limebedding - I would not mind being your neighbour. I don't expect silence and jobs need doing, kids need to play out. That's normal life.

I just mind people who think they can take over everybody's personal space with their crap music. We all share the outside space. If we all payed music top volume it would be intolerable. Music players exploit everybody else's good manners by relyng on the fact they are the only ones selfish enough to play music.

Blacklamb all you have to do is put headphones in. Why make everyone else listen to your music? Do you think because it is classical music people will admire how refined you are and not be annoyed? Why not do all your neighbors a huge favour and stop making them listen along with you.

userabcname · 12/04/2020 13:20

I heard what I thought was a huge argument happening at the end of our road the other day - eventually wandered to the end of the garden to have a nose over the fence and it was just some wally playing loud shouty music. I thought if people actually enjoy listening to that, I could record my kids and sell it for millions!

Cherrysoup · 12/04/2020 13:28

Play music outdoors should be fucking illegal. It’s the most inconsiderate shitty thing to do. You want loud music? Get some headphones and stop impacting on dozens of people around you. Inconsiderate twats.

Paperdolly · 12/04/2020 19:20

We’ve had some one Bldy tsp dancing...yeh tap dancing round here. It wouldn’t be to bad but there’s no music and my dogs are clicker trained. 😳. It’s driving them bonkers!!!!

AmelieTaylor · 12/04/2020 19:28

@TheLowry. I have several friends who are on their last nerve with selfish neighbours like this. One friend was told to call the councils environmental officer on Tuesday. (Might be too late friend might have a new patio by then).

Like you I'm fine with kids playing, I'm even fine with garden jobs & renovation projects - but other people's music will get their speakers shoved where the sun doesn't shine it's SO fucking selfish

And I no more want to hear shitty classic FM than I do rap or garage...

Use headphones 🎧 if YOU want to listen to music. I can't imagine being such an insufferable twat that I'd inflict my music taste on anyone!!

PumpkinP · 12/04/2020 19:32

Yes my neighbours are like this, they dominate the street so when I sit out in my garden I can’t relax as they are always blasting music and not only that they scream and shout at each other instead of talking, they are a couple of doors down but yet can hear every word they say. Puts
Me off going out in the garden

dontgobaconmyheart · 13/04/2020 01:14

Yep. We have 3 neighbours (weird shaped cul de sac thing). Ones to the pop out several times a day to the shop, ones to the right have visitors, the one opposite also had visitors over the weekend and has had various builders around doing renovations since lock down began, all day sawing etc.

If this is reflective of the nation there is limited hope. It's appalling, I won't speak to any of them again.
