This is a couple of days old, but interesting.

"Upset Victory in Wisconsin Supreme Court Race Gives Democrats a Lift"

"A liberal challenger’s surprise triumph over a Trump-backed incumbent demonstrated strong turnout and vote-by-mail efforts for the Democrats in a key general election state."

Either it was an excellent candidate, or it may be a warning.

Trump has went past even full blown cuckoo that takes spectacular fuckery to do and hes managed it and then some

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 16/04/2020 12:48

Trump's hair might actually be that colour of its own accord. He gives me a grue because my father, who had really golden hair when younger (I mean the colour of a ripe cornfield: wonderful, I wish I had inherited it) ended up for a while in his seventies with gold-going-silver hair justabout exactly the colour of Trump's on his Wikipedia page. I completely hate there being even the slightest resemblance.

But Trump's seems to be variable, so I expect he dyes it. At the moment, going by his Twitter page, it is definitely grey.

I'll go with the Portuguese answer. Smile

What happened to the WH team that was trained by Obama's leaving team on what to do in a situation like this pandemic?
They're either in jail or Fox news.

Lweji That cartoon just about says it all, doesn't it?

Lweji · 16/04/2020 19:40

Yes, it's not even funny. Just sad.

AcrossthePond55 · 16/04/2020 20:45

I found it particularly poignant in light of what's going on in Sioux City SD at the Smithfield plant. Their governor should be indicted on criminal charges for not instituting a lockdown a month ago. Of course, she's a Scrotus arse licker of the first magnitude. As a result of her refusal to order a lockdown SD now has the highest per capita Covid19 cases in the US. Higher than CA. Higher than NYC.

"The plant, one of the world’s biggest pork production sites, has 3,700 employees, most of whom are immigrants, according to NPR."
It might explain the complacency.

Lovely summary of latest briefing courtesy of the BBC news page
He said that re-opening the US economy would be done "one careful step at a time" but he called on state governors to move "very, very quickly, depending on what they want to do"
That's so very Trumpish

Roussette · 17/04/2020 07:43

Bruceandnosh talk about a lack of direction. Thank goodness Governers will do their own thing and what's right for their State.

I know this is old, but for me it sums up why the British dislike Trump..

KellyAnne excels herself with her comments about it not being COVID1.

Will George now have to explain to her that there aren't 68 other positions?

Interesting read if, like me, you've already forgotten all the details concerning those 2 innocents: Mr Stone and Mr Trump. El Presidente might decide to revisit the pardon scenario - business as usual... (no virus will get in the way of corruption) And Roger isn't actually in prison yet.

Roger Stone denied new trial; gag order lifted
edition.cnn.com/2020/04/16/politics/roger-stone-trial-gag-order/index.html

Roger Stone does not deserve a retrial, a federal judge ruled on Thursday, after the longtime friend of President Donald Trump had attempted to claim jury misconduct.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson of the US District Court in DC ruled Stone's jury forewoman had not lied to the court about her opinions when she was screened for bias before the trial, as Stone alleged. Instead, Jackson said Stone's legal team failed to fully research and question her.

Trump sides with protesters lashing out at Democratic governors over stay-at-home orders
www.washingtonpost.com/world/2020/04/17/coronavirus-latest-news/?no_nav=true&tid=a_classic-iphone&p9w22b2p=b2p22p9w00098#link-LH44FBYWUND4NECVQTUIHPDO5E
Trump seemingly took the side of protesters in Minnesota, Michigan and Virginia who are defying social distancing orders to rally against the states’ safety measures intended to stop the coronavirus spread.
In back-to-back tweets, Trump wrote: “LIBERATE MINNESOTA” and then, “LIBERATE MICHIGAN” and then, “LIBERATE VIRGINIA, and save your great 2nd Amendment. It is under siege!”

The Midwest states are all governed by Democrats and are considered battlegrounds in the presidential campaign. In 2016, Hillary Clinton won Minnesota while Trump took Michigan, each by narrow margins. Clinton more easily won Virginia.
A group calling itself “Liberate Minnesota” is planning a protest outside Gov. Tim Walz’s residence Friday in opposition to his stay-at-home order.
A rowdy protest outside the Michigan Capitol crowded the streets with people wearing MAGA hats and chanting “Lock her up,” referring to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Also Thursday, a smaller group protested in Virginia by holding a picnic on the Capitol grounds without social distancing or wearing masks.

B1rdbra1n · 17/04/2020 17:30

and save your great 2nd Amendment. It is under siege
what an innovative leadership style, in the midst of a global crisis he sees an opportunity to go for broke and create something really huge like civil war

TheNorthWestPawsage · 17/04/2020 17:39

More on those protesting.

That Ohio protest photo looked like a zombie movie. Zombie movie directors think so, too.

OMG. That's just as embarrassing to regular Americans as when Crazy Aunt Trudy does the can-can and shows her drawers at the 4th of July picnic.🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼

lionheart · 17/04/2020 18:54

Except that, as illuminating as the experience might be, a glimpse of Crazy Aunt Trudy's undergarments probably won't kill you.
