If the upshot of his 'bleach 'em, light 'em up' madness is that he no longer wants to appear at the briefings, then maybe it was worth it.
The factual information provided by medical professionals at the briefings is valuable information. But we can't bear to watch it because of his insane and inane ramblings. And the time they have to take to correct his misinformation without him realizing it is a waste.
IMO it wasn't about musing out loud, it was all about thinking his pea-sized brain had found the 'miracle cure' that the trained medical and scientific professionals have not yet found so he commanded that it be 'looked into' so he could claim credit. Same as with the Hydroxychloroquine. He didn't think about the logic or the likelihood, he just wanted to be able to claim credit for a cure IF it turned out to be one. After all, think of what it would do for his poll numbers??
Like I said upthread, I wouldn't put it past him to suggest he might walk amongst 'the Faithful' in a Trump Thaumaturgy laying his hands on their heads in his version of the 'King's Touch'.
