To think that the girl taking over my job when I go on mat leave actually turn up for work!!!!

I Start my maternity leave on the 5th of October (YAY ). The girl who is supposed to be covering my job whilst I am away was supposed to start today at 9am, come 9.45am and no sign of her my manager calls her and she says she FORGOT

WTF, how do you forget that you are starting a new job, fair enough if she has had any serious family problems or the such, but she didn't say anything of the sort to my manager.

I want to give her the benefit of the doubt, but for her to say she had forgot!!! Well at least she is truthful

she's not exactly going to get any points in the keen stakes is she? I did once forget a job interview. well, not quite forget but had lodged it in my brain as being on Wednesday. midday on Tuesday I get a "where the hell are you call?" I was so taken by suprise that I just confessed - I was totally stunned as I genuinely don;t normally do that shit, and I think my genuine suprise and profuse apologies made them give me the benefit of the doubt. Given that it's not a Monday is it possible she did something similar? seeing as you weren't the one who spoke to her it's difficult for you to tell.

Hatwoman, your probably right but I was so looking forward to her just getting here and knowing that my mat leave is that one step closer . I'm probably mega hormonal an so so so tired.

Boss now saying that he is going to carry on looking for other people in case she drops out or somthing, so looks like I'll be here till I give birth!!!!!!!!
