I've just checked my emails and I've received an email stating one of my passwords and demanding a 1900$ bitcoin payment because I accessed an "adult" site. If I don't pay the sender will send a webcam to all my contacts of the time. Is this even possible? What should I do?!

To make a really good and memorable password use the first letter of a string of text. For example, the song roar by Katy Perry. "I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, standing through fire" so your password becomes Igteottafstf Then some numbers mingled in and a special character or two.

@LifeIsAPotato even if it is for food delivery, make sure u change it cuz most of us safe our credit cards in these accounts or whatever payment method.

It's a well known scam OP, I've had it...twice in the last few years I think? You'll be fine, who cooked that one up I'll never know. If it even were real (it isn't) I can't think why I'd care that anyone knew I'd watched some porn in my life or how anyone would imagine they would expose you and to whom .

It works well as a scam because most people have been on adult sites, have a webcam, are shocked to realise someone 'knows' their password- so they're alarmed, panicked and start not thinking straight do comply. They get the password info from stolen data bought online, so it may not even be current if you change regularly as we all should. A timely reminder to do so, and not use the same password for multiple accounts. We've all likely been 'hacked multiple times and don't know, you can check online!
