To think people are more cunty at the moment?

It's not just the virus that spreads exponentially is it? there's an epidemic of unkindness and rudeness. Is it the stress?

Partly stress, partly that the balance of people you are likely to meet going out, obviously most people you will see are being out for reasonable reasons but as everyone who follows the rules will be out less than they normally would be the proportion of the 'I can do what I like' types will be higher than normal.

On here or in real life?

I think a lot of people have got better, are doing their best to help one another out and be friendly, but it's brought out the best and the worst of people. I haven't encountered many vile people in real life.... just several very thoughtless ones.
On here, loads of lovely posters but a handful who seem to take pleasure in scaring people and being unkind..... which is just odd.

onanothertrain · 10/04/2020 14:52

In real life I think people are nicer. Not so much on here.

JuneFromBethesda · 10/04/2020 14:53

Definitely on here. I’m finding Mumsnet virtually unreadable at the moment.

Hingeandbracket · 10/04/2020 14:54

Went out for a walk, saw two total bellends driving really fast in a convertible bellend-mobile. They were being cunty - most people seem OK though.

emmetgirl · 10/04/2020 15:03

Maybe it's just where I live but I'm finding the opposite. Everyone seems a bit kinder and more patient to me. Maybe it's just luck!

Iwalkinmyclothing · 10/04/2020 15:07

I am, definitely. I have far less patience and tolerance for bullshit. Where normally I'd roll my eyes, think "what a twat" and move on, now I am getting into arguments with people who have said or posted things that raise my hackles. I'm tired, work (inpatient mental health) is awful, home is difficult... I have to keep my temper at work and with the DC, obviously, so there's even more fury building up to let out elsewhere instead.

HotPenguin · 10/04/2020 15:07

Where I live people are being very lovely. Perhaps the pressure of being nice all the time is too much and they all have to come on here to let out some bile.

BorrestGump · 10/04/2020 15:12

The residents of my adopted home town have become majorly cunty.

I have lived here 12 years and despite being a reluctant resident initially (it was supposed to be short term) I have come to love it and the people in it. Amongst the people I know though, a lot have turned out to have seriously warped attitudes towards their community and that is disappointing.

amusedbush · 10/04/2020 15:20

I went out earlier to pick up medicine for my dog and two guys around 30 were taking up the whole pavement. I stepped to one side to let them pass, I didn’t say a word or pull any kind of face, and one snarled ‘what the fuck are you looking at, you fat cunt?’ at me.

So that was nice.

Sciurus83 · 10/04/2020 15:24

Yeah, it's pretty unbearable on here to be honest. I think I'll be ducking out for a while, it's not a good place to be. Not noticed so much in real life but then I've only been out once in the last 3 weeks so hard to judge really!
