My housemate has gone out for weed

I’m so angry. One of my housemates has just got in from going to get weed from his dealer. Absolutely nonchalant about it as if he is unaware what is going on. Me and my other housemates are all being extremely careful, sanitising thoroughly when we come in after going out etc. I feel like calling the police but won’t - but he is putting all our lives at risk for his flipping fix and I’m just irate about it

I thought most drug dealers were doing delivery these days 🤷🏻‍♀️

Dozer · 09/04/2020 19:49

Addiction, or covidiot.

gingerbreadslice · 09/04/2020 19:51

Could he of just had it slung to him and through the money at the guy?
Long as he takes the weed out the baggy and puts it in something else and washes his hands he should be fine. If he was sitting in the car now I understand the panic but it's done now I guess

vodkaredbullgirl · 09/04/2020 19:52

Bolt the door next time and not let them back in.

Be so glad when the kids go back to school lol

DdraigGoch · 09/04/2020 19:53

I'd lock him out.

Slith · 09/04/2020 19:53

Tell him to order it online instead.

IHaveBrilloHair · 09/04/2020 19:54

Its not more risky than going to a shop, not that Im a fan of weed, but you needn't worry more.

Srslydontgiveacrap · 09/04/2020 19:55

Not sure this is a big deal. Just like getting uber eats of deliveroo

gingerbreadslice · 09/04/2020 20:06

Why didn't he just post it through the letterbox this is bugging me now

Iflyaway · 09/04/2020 20:06

Well, you would need some weed in times like this.

Luckily, where I live it's legal. Open, like the supermarket.

Lots of people use it for medical reasons.

Greenmarmalade · 09/04/2020 20:09

I don’t think it’s particularly risky. No worse than shopping.

DartmoorChef · 09/04/2020 20:11

I couldnt get worked up about it.

Jizzle · 09/04/2020 20:11

YABU OP.

Sounds like a great idea in the current situation, and it is no more risky than you popping out to the shops.

If you listen to the people above about locking him out of his own house it is you that will be in trouble, not them

PawPawNoodle · 09/04/2020 20:11

My local drug dealer (I'm not a customer I hasten to add, but I do know them) has better sanitation practices than any shop I've been to. Double bagged products, gloves for the transactions, thorough hand-washing.

gingerbreadslice · 09/04/2020 20:15

@PolPotNoodle wonder if it's the same person my brother knows he does this too it's nuts

ShyTown · 09/04/2020 20:21

As long as he washed his hands when he came in and doesn’t plan on smoking in the house then I don’t really see the issue. It’s not any different to popping out for a (not strictly speaking essential) bottle of wine, or buying a takeaway. Let this one go and relax a bit, now isn’t the time to fall out with your housemate. And like PP I also live in a legal state and dispensaries are open for business here. I don’t buy the stuff personally but apparently it’s business as usual with added social distancing and hygiene measures. I hear they’re doing a roaring trade!

shineaflight · 09/04/2020 20:24

YANBU - is everyone on MN a pothead? Can't stand the stuff

shinynewapple2020 · 09/04/2020 20:38

Similar to popping to the off licence ?

rosiejaune · 09/04/2020 20:44

If wine (or gin) is considered essential by many people on here, then there's no reason cannabis shouldn't be too.

twinkledag · 09/04/2020 20:48

Smoking weed while there's a respiratory illness pandemic?!

Justcallmebebes · 09/04/2020 20:49

I haven't smoked in over 20 years but in your shoes I'd be delighted right now

DianaT1969 · 09/04/2020 21:04

There's a regular group of weed/drug dealers in the car park opposite my home. Always a couple of cars there and youths on bikes riding up and down. None of them are social distancing. Your housemate getting close enough to a dealer to take a package is a lot worse than using a checkout at a supermarket. He's an idiot.

slipperywhensparticus · 09/04/2020 21:07

Apparently its non addictive unlike tobacco or alcohol so I dont see why it couldnt have waited 🤔

KnockDownNinja · 09/04/2020 21:13

Why is going to buy weed more of a risk than going to buy anything else OP?

I understand the need if he's living with someone this uptight.
