People are playing football on the field near me but it seems to just be families.

Yabu
I can’t see anything wrong with this to be honest.
I have seen families playing football, exercising or just sitting together outside. As long as they are all from the same household and not mixing with others, I can’t see the problem.
Not everyone has a garden to do these things

Sweetheart1313 · 09/04/2020 09:30

How dare they exercise in a way that is not in keeping your expectations of how people should be exercising! Call the police IMMEDIATELY! Hopefully they will get locked up for a few years, maybe slightly less jail time for the kids as they may not know any better.

User202004 · 09/04/2020 09:37

I would happily take my boys to play football on our very quiet village green for half an hour, but the amount of fuckers letting their dogs shit all over the place at the moment has rendered it unusable Angry

vodkaredbullgirl · 09/04/2020 09:38

Nothing wrong, maybe they dont have a garden or 1 big enough to play football.

Northernsoulgirl45 · 09/04/2020 09:38

Not got strong feelings myself either way.
Just canvassing opinion as others have been slated on local page for doing similar.

I don't think they should be playing football. Not because I think it puts people directly in danger, but because it then gives other people the idea it's ok to congregate. The only reason the government have included exercise in the allowed activities is because it's good for you. A walk/run/cycle/scoot is sufficient. What happens if multiple families get the same idea and all try to kick the ball about on the same field? Balls flying everywhere, kids running to retrieve them. It's a shame as my DS would love nothing more than a kick around at the moment but it just isn't sensible in my opinion.

Isadora2007 · 09/04/2020 09:40

Football is exercise. Unless someone is organising a football game between households there is NOTHING wrong with it. People are being ridiculous about this tbh.

clareOclareO · 09/04/2020 09:43

If it's a household group away from others, it's fine.

@SuperCraft it then gives other people the idea it's ok to congregate.

I know what the guidelines are, I'm not going to start breaking them just because other people look like they might be.

I'd like to think the majority of Britain is with me, though I'm British and have always lived here, so you might have a point.

Stefoscope · 09/04/2020 09:45

If it's just one household playing then there's no issue. If another household tries to join in, you leave. Seems straightforward enough; you can't control the actions of other's but you can control your own.
