Press on veneers...

Hello all

It looks like I will need a PR molar removed. I've accepted this. I have just seen some different press on veneer companies like in instasmile.

Has anyone had experience with this or are all the reviews bogus.

Should I stay away from this?

Yabu-stay away bad idea

Yanbu - they are fine and safe and worth it.

Thanks

I was thinking of getting them on my top set of teeth just for when I am out in public once my tooth is removed and healed

I've not tried them but they look good in the adverts. You may have more luck asking in the style and beauty section.

A veneer is only a cover of an existing tooth is it not so when something has been removed there’s nothing to cover surely?

Piglet89 · 08/04/2020 09:06

Yes: I think a veneer needs something to adhere to; if you want to fill the gap after the tooth’s been removed, you will need to pursue another option, like an implant, a bridge or a denture.

What’s a “PR” molar? Do you mean premolar?

What this company are selling are not veneers. More like a tooth coloured retainer type device that you would wear after orthodontic treatment. They look awful. I can't imagine that you could eat with these in. They remind me of the "flippers" pageant contestants in America wear to disguise when baby teeth have been lost and the new tooth not fully grown yet.

Sorry typo. Yes pre molar. It would go over all the teeth not one. I was thinking just for when I'm in public. I work from home so apart from the school run and the occasional outing I wouldn't wear it. Maybe the gap won't be that noticeable I'm just very conscious of it being very noticeable
