My son is supposed to be going to central Africa on a school trip in July , the company who is organising say it hasn’t been cancelled as it’s so far ahead and want the last payment soon . He had started his course of vaccinations last month and has more this week . I don’t want him to go to pharmacist for them , aibu in thinking the trip will be cancelled or should I send him for vaccinations?

I really think this will not happen. I have been refunded money from a school exchange to France and a cancelled trip to the 'Globe'.

It won't happen

No way will it happen

It’s not going to happen. Even if he squeaked in, I wouldn’t want him going to Africa that soon after a badly controlled epidemic (developing countries will be hit hardest every which way).

No trip means no vaccinations. Write it off now and get your child used to the idea. They will be disappointed. Use the money for something else they will enjoy after all this has passed.

Might be wise to finish the course of vaccinations regardless. Some of them are valid for 10 years and if they go next year they’ll be done

Would you be happy for him to go?
