Next door neighbours' constant stream of visitors are so annoying!

Our neighbours have always been popular (they have a lot of family and friends in the area) but now that we have social distancing restrictions in place, they don’t invite their visitors inside and instead they stand or sit on the shared lawn right outside my window, sometimes chatting away for more than an hour! & this is multiple different people every day! & on Mother's Day there were about 20 people out there at once!

This makes me feel really uncomfortable and overlooked when I’m just trying to watch tv or whatever!

& of course it also goes against the social distancing restrictions since hanging around on the lawn is not essential!

AIBU to be secretly seething about this but not dare say anything to upset the neighbours? I just wanted a rant basically, thanks for listening...

Report either via 101 or most police forces have an online facility now.

JungleGiraffe · 06/04/2020 17:49

@Parmavioletmum It would be too obvious that it was us that reported them

That would annoy me I so many levels. I’d report from a social distancing POV.

HollowTalk · 06/04/2020 17:52

Why don't they stand outside their own window?

JungleGiraffe · 06/04/2020 17:55

@Hollowtalk I guess so that they're 2 metres away from their front door?

20 people? Sure....

JungleGiraffe · 06/04/2020 17:57

@teainthetardis They have 6 kids, 20+ grandkids and a bunch of great grandkids too, so yeah...

Are they staying 2m away?
Are they walking to the house no more than once a day each?
Are they stopping you from going out by getting in your exit route?
If no to all of these it isn't a danger, just annoying.

Parmavioletmum · 06/04/2020 18:01

If you live on a street it could be a number of people. Honestly it's people thinking that they're some kind of exception that is going to extend this lockdown, mean we won't even be allowed to have a walk etc and most importantly keep killing people. They are no exception to these rules and I understand that you have to live there but equally if they cant respect the rules then sod em. If we were watching a murderer would we not report it?

LesLavandes · 06/04/2020 18:02

Report them NOW

Parmavioletmum · 06/04/2020 18:02

I know that seems an extreme comparison but I'm at the point of getting sick of seeing, reading, hearing of people deliberately ignoring the guidelines or thinking they've found loopholes while a huge majority of the public are trying to come together to stop this.

Janaih · 06/04/2020 18:04

Definitely report them. Not on.

lowlandLucky · 06/04/2020 18:29

Wh havent you reported them ?

hadtojoin · 06/04/2020 19:10

I would be very tempted to play some loud music with your window open when they are there to disturb them, or take that time to hoover or something noisy.
