AIBU to think he should have had his letter telling him to stay indoors by now?

He has COPD, a heart condition, polymyalgia and high blood pressure - all of which are being managed by medications. We know that these illnesses put him in the shielding group and work have given him 12 weeks off, but they have called this week asking for a copy of the letter he should have received from the NHS.

Has everyone who will received a letter already had it by now? My dad has called his GP and been told they are not dealing with it.

I understand everyone is very busy and all services are strained, but I'm concerned that if my dad doesn't get this letter he may have to go back into work. I'm obviously worried sick about him catching the virus anyway with all his medical conditions Sad

He might not meet the criteria if none of these conditions fall under the 'severe' category even if together, it puts him at risk.

The letter was issued from specific registers which he won't be on. His best bet is to go via his GP who might agree that he meets one of the category without being placed on one of the registers.

If none of those conditions is very severe then he may not meet criteria.

I’m sure there’s a link on 111 for you to print an isolation note, would that suffice?

Or could he provide prescriptions to prove he has the conditions and there’s a hold up with his letter? If he does that I can’t imagine his employer taking the chance from an insurance point of view, of having him in.

Has he had a text from NHS? My workplace is accepting this as the same as a letter.

I would try your GP- I think they may be able to use their discretion
