Unless you are / have been a SAHP with toddlers / don't work during the school holidays most people aren't used to being with their kids all day.

Do you think there will be in increase in physical/ emotional abuse with parents of being able to cope with their demands / questions / bickering?

There already is, I am seeing it at work. Domestic abuse on the up too and escalating in seriousness.

Also, regular abusers will know that children won't have as much access to teachers and others who normally see the children daily and will feel they can get away with more, especially if they are not already under suspicion. Parents may very well now have total control of not only who sees their child and any bruises, but everything their child sees and hears. The parents are in the best position they will ever be in to convince their victims that they are worthless and deserve to be abused.

I just can't imagine. Heartbreaking.

Ugh. I hate that this is true.

I see it every day in my job at the moment. It's keeping me awake at night. Sometimes it feels a bit like we're sacrificing these vulnerable young people to protect another group of vulnerable people. It's lose-lose.

That's exactly what's happening. I give lockdown until end of April max then it just stop. The well-being of the living is just as important as protecting lives IMO.

Child abuse has crossed my mind plenty since this started. Not to mention sexual abuse and all sorts of horrible things that will increase due to these measures.

It cannot go on much longer, I'm starting to think Sweden has the right approach to be honest.
