Tesco delivery

The odd mixed feelings of excitement, anxiety, horror and panic when a Tesco order arrives. Delighted and grateful to get supplies, terrified in case they are caked in covid19. It’s a strange feeling.

I can’t get a delivery or click and collect for love nor money. I pay for a delivery saver as well.

Can anyone tell me how the shopping is actually delivered please as I've read that they don't pack in bags anymore? Do they leave them in crates or do you have to empty out before the driver leaves? Do they do it differently depending on the supermarket?

VisitingtheInfidel · 08/04/2020 16:51

I don’t know how it’s working elsewhere but our Tesco is bagging all the deliveries so the driver can easily carry it all to the door and then back off for the customer to pick up.

@VisitingtheInfidel thank you

I had a Tesco delivery yesterday and they had run out of bags so put every item in the porch , it took ages

Yes check at random times, I logged into Sainsbury’s around 4 pm today and was amazed I got a click and collect for Monday morning! There was a whole days worth but gone by the time I finished my transaction

Asda release at 10pm for a week ahead too. I've been staying up doing the Tesco thing for both my parents and us. It's really stressful but I've got us both slots each time.

Ineedabreak19 · 18/04/2020 07:58

I managed to get a Morrisons delivery for my elderly parents next week. I logged on at 2 am and there were plenty of slots available for just one day. So it's worth checking the website in the early hours of the morning.

GertrudeCB · 18/04/2020 08:08

My brother in Australia has been putting my DP's orders in for them as he is awake when the slots are released.

knittingaddict · 18/04/2020 08:10

There were slots available on the Tesco website mid morning yesterday for delivery next weekend. I booked one for my daughter, who is a single parent. We've been buying for her using Waitrose (shopping in store), Asda (click and collect) and Ocado, but it will be much easier if she can have her own order.

PrettyTricky it's the Utter Madness option...

Seashell80 · 22/04/2020 17:11

Where we are, morrisons by far and away have the best availability. Went on an hour ago to amend my order for Friday and got on straight away. Checked availability for next week and they had slots available every day and even a few left for this Saturday (25th)!

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 22/04/2020 17:37

@PrettyTricky

Sorry but its utter madness
