To mention the FeedNHS campaign?

I came across an online campaign earlier to raise money for one hot meal a day for staff in a London NHS trust.

Just putting the link here in case anyone would like to find out more or donate: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/feednhs.

Thanks so much everyone.

Not too sure what the purpose of this is - surely the canteens at the hospitals are still open? Is this hospital in particular unable to feed its staff?

I'd rather the meals went to people without jobs. I can pay for my lunch.

I completely understand what you’re both saying lock and Mouth. I see it as a gesture of generosity and gratitude towards the NHS

Well it appears legit, Damion Lewis is backing it from his twitter account.

I guess the point of it is so that NHS staff can eat for free while they work which is a decent thing to do for them at the moment. Especially if they are working all hours and can't get to a supermarket to buy fresh food. Personally I'd rather the staff stay healthy, have a break and eat a healthy meal if they are looking after us over clapping on a Thursday night. Just my opinion though.

Lots of us work 8.30- 4.30 and can shop or shift which allow day time shopping but its a kind thought.

Undomesticgodde55 · 05/04/2020 11:33

@lockitdown I know as an NHS worker too (normally front line but pregnancy has left me as WFH so a little out the loop now) I can afford my own lunch when I'm on shift and do take pride in making healthy meals to take to work. So I agree with that point entirely.

However I would suspect a lot of staff at the moment are so frazzled they will just want to get home, eat, sleep and repeat on a students diet.

So it's still a nice gesture however you look at it.
