I’m 37+4 weeks pregnant and for the past few days have had reduced movements. I’ve barely really felt him and his movements are different, nowhere near as strong. I’ve been into the labour ward twice, once being tonight. They monitored me and said baby sounded great but asked if I was still concerned and I said yes because even though I got a couple of kicks they still weren’t anything like normal. So they asked if I wanted to be admitted into the ward so they could monitor me overnight but I said no. I’m currently being treated for carrying MRSA and I also have gestational diabetes and pregnancy induced hypertension so I am high risk and tonight have swollen feet and hands which I’ve had for a while and protein and an infection in my urine. They said to come back if I’m still concerned or if I get any other preeclampsia symptoms such as a headache, which has now come on. But I feel stupid because I said no earlier so I don’t want to go back and waste their time. I only said no to being admitted because I’m worried about CV and of course hospital is the last place you want to be during this pandemic. What should I do? I feel like an idiot and I feel like they’ll think I’m wasting their time as I probably have done already by saying no to staying in.

Please go back. I was pressured not to go in, when I did say no, enough, I'm coming in, I ended up with a crash section, and a non breathing baby, thankfully DC is upstairs asleep 9 years later. Mothers instinct is not to be ignored. Pandemic or not, go back, now, please.

maddening · 05/04/2020 00:25

I hope that you are back there now, there ois no such thing as wasting time in a high risk pregnancy, good luck x

schafernaker · 05/04/2020 00:34

I went in today for reduced fetal movements and the midwife reminded me on the way out they monitoring is only valid for whilst you are hooked up to the machines, any problems, even in an hour come back’

So with this advice you need to go back!

MadameMeursault · 05/04/2020 00:36

Please go back in

Sparky87 · 05/04/2020 00:37

Enough4me · 05/04/2020 00:44

Go in and good luck.

mumoftwo1975 · 05/04/2020 00:52

The biggest mistake will be to not go back to the hospital tonight imo. I had my Son after reduced movements, I was only 28 weeks. I had severe pre-eclampsia and we were both hours away from death. Go to the hospital. Save your babies life. Good luck op.

Freddiefox · 05/04/2020 00:54

Just go back, they won’t mind. It’s for the best. Go

Roostersmum2 · 05/04/2020 00:59

Please go back OP, your post has worried me. I'm hoping you are on your way back there now. You are absolutely not wasting their time.

I had complications as I neared my due date and had to be induced in the end, hospital was the best place for me and baby so I agreed to be admitted. If I hadn't been in hospital when I was, I would have died.

Please update us when you can Flowers

HoldMyLobster · 05/04/2020 01:07

I've been to the funeral of a baby born dead at 38 weeks. Her mum had been told by the hospital not to worry when she called to say she hadn't felt her baby move. She had no risk factors at all.

Please go in.

adayatthebeach · 05/04/2020 01:17

You may have preeclampsia and they may want to induce you. Best go back.

EatingSomeMostDeliciousBugs · 05/04/2020 01:34

They will never think you’re a time waster. But actually even if they did who gives a fuck? Go in.

rarotonga2 · 05/04/2020 01:52

Hope you are ok OP. I join the many pp to say please do head back in.

LittlePaintBox · 05/04/2020 01:56

Sounds like you're having a really rough time with your health at the moment, OP, but all the more reason to go back to hospital and let them look after you. You don't have to tough it out - the care is there for people like you, who are having problems.

imabusybee · 05/04/2020 02:47

Hope you've gone back to hospital OP and all okay. Thinking of you Flowers

Incontinencesucks · 05/04/2020 02:48

Go back in. Better to go in 9 times for nothing then miss that 1 something

tricky29 · 05/04/2020 03:43

Please call your ward or go straight there.

OP, how are you doing? I hope you've gone back in. I went in a few times for reduced movements and always left feeling daft - not because I was made to feel that way, the staff were always incredible & reassuring, but because everything was always fine. I would rather feel daft and have that knowledge that everything is fine than sit at home worrying. It's not good for you or the baby!
