Covid 19 immunisations - would you have it?

Toooldfornonsense · 04/04/2020 17:33

Just that really. If and when one becomes available, would you have it?

Taking into consideration the lack of testing time on side effects (I’m meaning years not weeks or months).

Also say if we are tested for immunity and had already had the virus. Would you still have an immunisation? Really interested to hear everyone’s view.

absolutely I would have it.
even if it's not tested as extensively as vaccines normally are, it will go through a rigorous testing regime.

Heatherjayne1972 · 04/04/2020 17:39

Yes
In my line of work it’s pretty certain that we wouldn’t be able to work without it

FullOfCake · 04/04/2020 17:40

Yes definitely

NewChapter11 · 04/04/2020 17:40

Hell yes.

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 04/04/2020 17:41

Absolutely!

I’d walk over broken glass to hug my family again.

PineappleDanish · 04/04/2020 17:42

If the NHS tells me it's safe, then I'm having it.

Because I'm not arrogant enough to think I know better than the top medical professionals in the UK, with medical degrees, doctorates and 50 odd years research experience.

MooseBreath · 04/04/2020 17:43

Yes. Herd immunity and all that.

Jellybean27 · 04/04/2020 17:43

100%

SugarNyx · 04/04/2020 17:44

Shit yea, only a moron would say no

DramaAlpaca · 04/04/2020 17:44

Absolutely yes.

ChainsawBear · 04/04/2020 17:45

I suspect I've already acquired immunity the oldfashioned way but if antibody testing proves me wrong, absolutely, assuming it's been approved for human usage.

Helpwithaversion · 04/04/2020 17:46

Yes because even if it’s fast tracked I think enough vaccines have been made for other diseases that they know what is ok and what’s not ok so I wouldn’t be worried

WhenDoesTheWashingEnd · 04/04/2020 17:47

Yes!
Although I highly doubt any vaccine would be released without rigorous testing.

Giggorata · 04/04/2020 17:50

This was asked last week.
Too right I would have the vaccine. Even if it all quietens down, there will still be some of the virus within the community and I’m still vulnerable.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 04/04/2020 17:50

No!

AwkwardSquad · 04/04/2020 17:51

Good Lord yes. Like a shot. (Geddit? 😁)

Ponoka7 · 04/04/2020 17:52

I would.

I was reading up about chimpanzee adenovirus (which apparently is going to be a possibility) and that and other components are separately well trialled and tested. So although this will be new the ingredients etc won't be.

Toooldfornonsense · 04/04/2020 17:53

Just to clarify, not against immunisation at all, I’m interested on opinions on rush tested immunisations. Seems like the majority are ok with it?

OP posts:
Someonesayroadtrip · 04/04/2020 17:53

Of course I would.

teainthetardis · 04/04/2020 17:54

Yes.

Don’t understand people who saysl no

MsFrosty · 04/04/2020 17:55

100%

Madre1972 · 04/04/2020 17:57

Yes absolutely I would. I’m genuinely terrified of getting it- having been seriously unwell with Swine flu many years ago and even a cold knocks me off my feet.

Toooldfornonsense · 04/04/2020 17:59

@madre1972 after having the swine flu did you have the swine flu vaccine or wasn’t that necessary due to immunity? Genuinely interested. Thank you

OP posts:
Orchidflower1 · 04/04/2020 18:00

@NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace why wouldn’t you? Just curious.

opticaldelusion · 04/04/2020 18:14

Who says it's going to be rush tested? It will go through the same process as all vaccines. That might be expedited but the same steps will be taken to ensure its efficacy and safety.

Seriously, throw-away comments like yours are tiresome and unhelpful.
