To drink every night?

Since lockdown I have had a few drinks every night. The thought of 6pm without a g and t or glass of wine seems a very dark place but I’m starting to worry I’m forming really bad habits. Any one else and how do you have a drink free night?!

Most people would say it's fine to drink every evening so long as it's not causing problems in your life - financial, failing to keep work commitments and so on.

If you find yourself drinking more, and drinking more often, that is the sign of a problem. But as long as you keep the units per day in single figures, don't worry too much.

I do the G &T thing! If i have wine, like last night, 3/4 or the whole bottle is easily consumed. So I'm defiinitely drinking more tonic! I'm sticking to no alcohol Mon-Wed. DH is preferring to have a beer most nights but 2 maximum.

I lasted the first 15 days then made myself a large strong G & T. I was wasted after 1/3 of it but luckily didn't feel hungover the next day (which wasn't a work day). Since then I've had a bottle of wine over 3 nights (had some good news) and another night I had a smaller G&T. I have to say I do fancy a drink most nights, but tend to get distracted and end up not having one.

Every night does seem a lot - I think a day or two off the alcohol a week is advised as it gives the liver a bit of a respite. I enjoy a wine in the evening but usually limit that to three or four nights a week, sometimes just two. That usually equates to a bottle a week, sometimes two. When I’m not drinking wine but I’m in the mood for it in the evening I drink juice or something fizzy out of a wine glass, like when I was pregnant.

Usually we don't drink Mon-Thurs. We're doing well if we can manage the Monday now tbh.

I'd love a drink most nights but also pregnant so can't. My husband has been drinking most nights but has decided to start drinking only Friday and Saturday from this weekend.

I always drink every night so I don't see a problem at all. I have a high tolerance and never get drunk or get hangovers. I'd have to drink a lot to get drunk, like well into the early hours. I obviously don't do this often. But I enjoy having drinks in the evening and don't see anything wrong with it.
