Can you do the splits?

Very random I know, but can you do the splits? If so, how long did it take you and how often do you stretch now?

I want to be able to do them and have been daily stretching for a week so far, I’m 28 so don’t know if age will have a role to play or not!

Oh and not everyone is flexible or will be able to increase their flexibility. It's DNA, the make up of your muscle fibres and the amount of collagen etc. If you're hypermobile it's genetic.

Yes. Like a lot, danced and did gymnastics as a kid and just never lost it. Helps that I teach dance and drama regularly so stretch then.

I can. It's a good party trick 😂 did a bit of ballet as an young teen and now can still do them very easily despite being 29, quite unfit and not very stretchy any more!

No. I'm 48 and have had an abdominal hysterectomy. My insides would probably fall out through my vagina, or I'd break a hip.

14 year old DD can though.

Never been able too, even when doing gymnastics as a kid. I can put my foot behind my head no problem though

@pickachew Same, I'm hypermobile, but never been able to do the splits. I can put my leg behind my head though!

Yes. nearly 50.

I always wanted to be a gymnast or ballet dancer to but lived in the middle of no where so no classes. I taught myself to do walkovers and handsprings.

Being hyper mobile is why I had bunions from childhood though.
