Big birthday coming up what to do?

My best friend has a big birthday coming up and obviously we won't be able to get together but I'd still like to get her a gift. Would it be unreasonable or unnecessary to get her flowers delivered? Not even sure if flower shops are still open! I live within walking distance (just) to her so I could drop something off I guess. I'm just wary of ordering unnecessary online items at the minute and there's not a lot I can pick up in the supermarkets that would fit for a milestone birthday.

Any ideas?

Bottle of Champagne. The main supermarkets do lovely flowers like an orchid in a pot. Packets of toilet paper! I doubt you can get flowers delivered atm.

Since it is spring and you live in England, which is so beautifully full of flowers anyway at this time, I would not recommend sending them to your friend. I actually think there are a lot of delicious things in a supermarket that would be a wonderful treat. I just had my birthday and I would have loved being given a "gift basket" of food items that I worry about having a shortage of in these scary times. Tea, chocolate, baking mixes, nuts, dried fruit, wine, coffee, cheese, jams, jars of nice cooking sauces (Indian, Italian, Asian flavors), pastas, biscuits, fancy olive oil and vinegar, soup mixes, etc., would all be extra nice at this time.

I have arranged for some flowers to be delivered to a friend over the weekend - she's in a different city. If she had been more local and I was limited to a supermarket only I would have bought her champagne, some of her favourite treats, flowers etc.

More local I would have dropped them off at the door. A lot of online florists are still in action as far as I am aware, I was intending on getting some flowers delivered for my mil for her birthday soon.

It's my sisters birthday next week (and mine the week after!). I have brought her a set of nice moisturisers as, if like mine, her hands are ruined from continuously washing and anti bac them. I've also brought some nice chocolates and treats as she is off work atm. I figured the best she can do is pamper and have good food whilst netflixing!

Walk round a bottle of her favourite tipple. Some cheese (if she eats it), olives, biscuits etc and a handwritten voucher for something when this all over??

I would make an at home hamper with supermarket bits (food, nice bath stuff etc) and an IOU for a fun outing later
