To dislike dancing?

I don't mind other people doing it, but I don't like having to do it myself.

I just feel so awkward and out-of-Place regardless of the context.

What's even worse is that my friends and family see my dislike of it as a challenge to get me on the dance floor....

I love a dance class. Especially ballet. Choreographed dance is great.

Absolutely hate dancing in a club/at a wedding. Always have. Feel like a dick.

RoyalChocolat · 03/04/2020 07:04

Yanbu. I organized our wedding so that there would be no opportunity to dance.

TroysMammy · 03/04/2020 07:19

YANBU. I hate it too.

GG20 · 03/04/2020 07:21

YANBU - I hate it as well. No problem with other people doing it, but I will not participate.

jaimebravo · 03/04/2020 07:52

Yanbu.
Other people dancing, that's fine but not something I enjoy

  • especially at weddings. I am more of a lurker than a dancer!

I hate dancing too, always feels like forced fun! I’m sure it’s not for others but I’m with you!

GlitterToast · 03/04/2020 12:56

Woohoo! Can we get "no-dance" tables at functions to be a thing? Smile

Me too. I hate it when breezy articles say things like “ If you are feeling low just put your favourite music on and dance around the kitchen! It’s free, you’ll feel brighter and you’ll burn off some calories too!”

Kill. Me.Now.

Thelnebriati · 03/04/2020 13:12

Count me in. I love listening to music but I'm completely graceless. Why would I want to do something badly?

putastrawunderbaby · 03/04/2020 13:14

Me too - I just have no idea what to do or how to move. I'd love to learn.

Bezalelle · 03/04/2020 13:18

I actually hit someone who tried to drag me up onto a dance floor Blush. She just wouldn't take no for an answer so I slapped her. not sorry

@MrsGrindah

Tbf, I don't mind a bit of dancing around the house. It's dance floors and the like that I hate.
