Socially distanced walk?

My friend doesn't live with her bf but is meeting up with him to go on walks where they stay 6M apart.

Is that acceptable?

MrsTP - I'm guessing 'dreadmill' wasn't a typo?

It was not @ErrolTheDragon Grin

There is actually somewhere something written that says going out in groups of no more than 2 people. Keeping 2m apart from people who aren't household members and also about going out in groups as household members.

That's what caused original confusion about people thinking families could only go out in 2's and that meme era of a household has to socially distance when out.

I am also Hmm about this as it's unclear and goes against everything else they've said. But it's definitely been said and been written down somewhere at some point.

I think that the law about groups of two is to prevent law-abiding individuals being criminalised if, for instance, they happen to catch sight of a friend whilst out on a walk/shopping trip and stop for a quick (socially distanced) chat.

Also, there are a few instances where it might be necessary to meet up with another individual in public. For example, someone living alone with mental health challenges might really need to go for a (socially distanced) walk with a friend sometimes, to prevent their condition from deteriorating.

I don’t see the point , how can you talk if you’re that far away .
Seems like a lot of effort

We went to the supermarket at the same time, got to have a 45 min chat in the (appropriately spaced out) queue...no different to standing next to a stranger in my opinion.
