DUP councillor blames coronavirus on abortion legalisation and same-sex marriage

The coronavirus outbreak is God’s judgment for legalising abortion and same-sex marriage in Northern Ireland, a DUP councillor has claimed.

John Carson, from Ballymena, County Antrim, wrote a public Facebook post on Tuesday comparing himself to the biblical figure of Noah for warning people about the divine consequences of abortion reform.

The DUP has distanced itself from the comments, although the party opposed new laws making terminations easier in the first 24 weeks.

Mr Carson said: ‘I said when abortion was legalised that our nation would be judged by God because of its departure from his word and the legalisation of the murder of the unborn child as well as same-sex marriage.

‘I was laughed at and mocked by some but as I said at the time, they laughed at Noah until the rain started.

Asked why a change to laws in Northern Ireland would create a virus in China, he said: ‘God works in mysterious ways.’

He later added: ‘They laughed and mocked my Saviour too, but some day soon their laughs will turn to screams.’ !!!

FUCK THE DUP

Israel’s Health Minister Yaakov Lizman, head of Agudat Yisrael party,
who weeks ago declared that coronavirus is a "divine punishment for homosexuality", has been infected. His wife too. This forces PM Netanyahu to have to isolate himself for another 15 days.

I'm constantly bemused by how they can get so worked up about something that has literally ZERO effect on their lives.

Don't want gay marriage? Then don't marry a man fuckwit. It isn't mandatory.

A much greater percentage of the population in NI would attend church regularly (be it Mass or C of I or Presbyterian or whatever) than would be the case in England.

I've returned to NI after a while living in England and it struck me more than it ever has - just what a grip religion (in the form of the 3 main ones here, Catholic, Presbyterian, and Anglican) has.

Especially here in the NI "Bible belt" - which encompasses where he's from (Ballymena).

I attended a birthday party in a rural pub near Ballymena once and when I went outside to make a phone call, an older man in a passing car noticeably saw me and pulled in then approached me ... I thought he was going to ask directions, instead he handed me a religious booklet.

Our ex first ministers wife was quoted as saying that homosexuality was wrong because it is disapproved of in the Bible. She later had a extra marital affair with a much younger man whom she'd known since he was a child ...
I thought "you know what they'd have done to you for that in the Bible luv? Stoned you to death most likely".

I remember watching the TV drama 'The Secret' - an outwardly religious man who ended up with two murders to his name so he could keep his 'lover'. Chilling.

So many people shape 'God' in their own image, instead of what their religion teaches them to do. They are therefore able to justify murder and even mass murder!

He certainly has his defenders:

The criticism of the comments of Councillor John Carson by media and political colleagues has been welcomed by many.

However, it is interesting to see that two Catholic cardinals (Burke and Cordes) concur with the views of the DUP member, along with other prelates, together with many pro life charities including a leading anti abortion campaigner in England who called coronavirus a “chastisement for ... killing of innocent children in the womb”.

We see daily the contradiction of such luminaries as the deputy first minister Michelle O’Neill and the up and coming politicos such as Matthew O’Toole of the SDLP, calling for to save lives in these challenging times and then welcoming abortion liberalisation.

That liberalisation will result in the butchery of the unborn after March 31.

The views of Mr Carson may not be too far off the mark!

With Northern Ireland containing so much holiness that we need more church denominations than days of the week, you can imagine my surprise at the lack of support there was (in comparison to the outrage) over the comments made by DUP MLA John Carson (April 3).

He suggested the coronavirus outbreak was God’s punishment for the introduction of marriage and abortion law reform on our Province .

I can neither confirm or deny that statement but I do believe this is a precursor of the pestilence to come Matthew 24:7 Luke 21:25 when God pours out his vials of wrath upon the earth Revelation 16 .

In Romans 1:18-32 the people incur God’s wrath so he abandons them and gives them over to the consequences of their actions

All sexual immorality is a sin but just like the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah it was the practice of homosexuality that tipped the scales into judgement and destruction .

The Bible clearly condemns the practice of same sex relationships and immorality, Leviticus 18:22 20:13, Timothy 1:10 , Jude 1:17 1st Corinthians 1:10:11 Romans 1:26-28.

We have accepted that in order to accommodate a small minority of people. We have legalised the sin of same sex relationships and mocked God with the oxymoron of so called same-sex marriage.

We have allowed the mastectomy of children and the wholesale slaughter of others in the womb .

Do you really expect blessings over judgement when you affirm that which God condemns, and exalt that which God punished.

I feel sure that these people would have been scandalised had they lived in the time of Christ and seen him consorting with prostitutes and sinners. This desire to see people suffer has more to tell us about the people who espouse it than the religion that they profess to follow.
