I keep seeing this stuff all over Facebook, Instagram etc where women I went to school with are flogging stuff like fancy soap, candles, knock off smell a like perfumes and giving inspirational blurb about being their own boss, working from home and so on. I know there are also body shop schemes and there used to be Ann summers party planners and people selling cleaning products in the 90s. I know these things are called pyramid schemes but I don't quite understand how they work and what the point is. I don't want to ask any of them because they'll just try and talk me into buying stuff but I'm just curious and wondering why I keep seeing these posts all over the place. If I wanted something from the body shop I'd just order it from the website so why would anyone buy from these kind of people?
I don't mean any offence to anyone selling these things, I'm just curious how they work and what the point is
