to superglue my dental veneer back on?

2under2survivor · 02/04/2020 10:52

I have 4 veneers on my top teeth, have had no problems with them for 6 years and then literally 2 hours after my dental surgery closed to all but emergency patients, one of them fell off. FFS.

I have tried Toofypegs which works for about 24 hours and then I need to apply it again.

So, is superglue a good idea or can anyone recommend a different product? I can't not have it on for however many weeks/months until I can see a dentist again.

I have a plate with 2 teeth and one broke off when I was eating popcorn - i glued it back on Confused

A crown fell off on holiday one year. I superglued it back on and it lasted another 2 years.

Ugh, that sounds like my timing, for these types of things!

My Mum's friend superglued a crown back on successfully, for a couple of years.
Just be sure to get it on straight.

I am notoriously risk-averse, and trying to do your own superglue repair to a tooth sounds fraught with danger to me! It seems to be a thing, though, so good luck Smile

pingbloodyping · 02/04/2020 12:48

Does that not count as an emergency? Without the veneer to protect it the rest of the tooth can be damaged, infected.

pingbloodyping · 02/04/2020 12:49

Our dentist isn’t doing check ups but is available for repairs etc

I dont know whether this applies to veneers but i saw this on a local FB page.

to superglue my dental veneer back on?

Is it sore? if it's just a veneer I would just leave it, maybe use sensodyne to stop any sensitivity. I'm

Hannah021 · 02/04/2020 13:20

isn't superglue toxic?

Greenbutterlfy566 · 02/04/2020 13:21

Don't put on superglue!

Try ebay and search for Crown repair

EmeraldShamrock · 02/04/2020 13:23

You could try it but I'd be worried about the glue causing damage to the tooth.
You might stick in to your lip.

Forgotten2020 · 02/04/2020 13:24

Pingbloodyping - who is your dentist?

Bigjobbiewheecker · 02/04/2020 14:16

Ping not if it's just a veneer, very little of the tooth is removed for a veneer so kind of like a false nail.

OlaEliza · 02/04/2020 14:24

I'd use no nails 👊

1976Bo · 02/04/2020 15:06

Don't use superglue, you run the risk of killing the tooth's nerve-leading to root canal or worse, an extraction.
Leave it alone, keep it clean.
No, a de-cemented veneer, however unsightly, is not a dental emergency.
