Scientist pricks filter bubble of Fox news viewers and presenter is stunned into silence

A scientist is on Fox news and is asked a question about testing. He then explains the issues with the tests and why the US is where they are now.

The interviewer is then in silence. No follow up. No discussion. Just silence. Before ending the interview.

Glorious

chomalungma · 02/04/2020 07:03

It's a bit good, isn't it.

Will he be back?

Fantastic. We need more of this. The same should be said to the british public. And often.

HennyPenny4 · 02/04/2020 07:04

the interviewer is in silence listening to a feed over her headphone.
You can see from her eyes she is listening.

onalongsabbatical · 02/04/2020 07:06

Yep, good man.

HollyGoLoudly1 · 02/04/2020 07:08

I'm a little bit in love with that guy Grin

Thesuzle · 02/04/2020 07:10

Scroll down a bit on that link and see the orang-utan washing her hands

PlywoodPlank · 02/04/2020 07:11

thesuzle I am glad it's not just me who did that!

c75kp0r · 02/04/2020 07:13

The scientist is super cute Blush.

misses the point

caperberries · 02/04/2020 07:34

Peston doesn't cover himself in glory here. At least the Fox presenter had the common sense not to argue back...

RuffleCrow · 02/04/2020 07:38

So August least year? Well that qualifies as news!

chomalungma · 02/04/2020 07:48

Peston gets it wrong

Srslydontgiveacrap · 02/04/2020 07:49

@caperberries

Robert Peston is a complete d*ck

Pluckedpencil · 02/04/2020 07:57

I don't this Robert Peston man but that interview reveals him to be both a poor scientist and a poor journalist, as well as an arrogant dickhead.

chomalungma · 02/04/2020 07:59

Scienceplaining?

I love the disingenuous invitation to return. That man will never see a Fox News camera again. Just wish I could hear the manic screaming in her earpiece.

TheVanguardSix · 02/04/2020 08:54

Her stunned silence is her unintentional mic drop on his behalf. I love it! Grin

chomalungma · 02/04/2020 08:58

It is a classic clip.

I wonder if Trump was watching?

QuimReaper · 02/04/2020 08:59

Fantastic. We need more of this. The same should be said to the british public. And often.

We've had absolutely loads of people saying this haven't we? Anyway, brilliant clip. What was the point she was making to begin with? Was she trying to implicitly criticise the speed and skill of the scientists?

ZenDay · 02/04/2020 09:01

It is MSNBC and CNN who have the agenda.

clareOclareO · 02/04/2020 09:05

Underwhelming. The presenter is clearly getting chatter over her headset from the producer. Clumsy presenting but nothing to do with the interviewee's remarks.

(Incidentally to see even clumsier presenting whilst someone is talking in your ear, check out any of Donald Trump's speeches ever.)

Dandarabilla · 02/04/2020 09:09

What’s so special about this? It was a regular question with a regular answer. She was not stunned into silence...what are you all on about?

chomalungma · 02/04/2020 09:13

She was not stunned into silence...what are you all on about

The response from the scientist was very honest and damning about the testing regime and the response.

And no follow up. No discussion. Just silence and then "We look forward to having you back"

Maybe you see something different. Wouldn't you have expected a follow up question in response to what he was saying?
