To ask for food processor recommendations?

I blatantly am but anything other than sodding coronavirus.

We've got a second hand kenmix 650 from the 2000s. The blades have dulled and the plastic of the bowl and lid and rotor are cracking. I may make do and just replace those bits, but, if by the end of lockdown I've paid off my credit card (the lack of lunch time spending and takeaways is good for my bank balance and my waistline!) I may invest in a new one.

So what should I buy?

YABU - replace the broken bits
YANBU - splurge on a new one.

It's the food processor bit I'm specifically after- I have a separate blender and stand mixer.

What type of thing do you use it for?

I0NA · 01/04/2020 22:08

I’d like to know this too as my very old magimix has died.

Carolwithane making chickpea related stuff mainly! Hummus and falafel. Chopping veg for batch cooking. Making salsa.

I'm interested to know what others use them for!

Love my magimix! Got it as a wedding present a couple of years ago. Comes with 3 sizes of bowls for soups/baby food purées in the big one to pesto and curry pastes in the little. Also with a dough attachment but you probably wouldn’t use that much with a separate mixer anyway.

Got my Magimix nearly 30 years ago and still going strong! Good motors and lots of extra attachments you can buy if you have particular requirements.

The only moan I'd have is that it's not dishwasher proof and a bit fiddly to properly wash and dry but I should imagine the new ones have moved on from this now.

It’s the motor that died on my magimix 😰😰

I think I bought it in the late 1980s.

My Magimix parts go in the dishwasher. It's around 6 years old, and I use it most days. Couldn't do without it really.

I thought I wanted a magimix (my gran had one) but didn't want to influence recommendations. Seems I wasn't wrong though.
