...Lemon concentrate (the kind in a bottle) and water?

I'm sure I've asked before but then Life took over and I completely forgot about it, as apparently did everyone else... It really does need some tlc Blush Hmm

Surely a cloth and some water would do

cece · 01/04/2020 19:35

I did mine with soapy warm water

MrsMozartMkII · 01/04/2020 19:36

Stickybeaksid sadly not Blush

Elbow grease spray! Good on clothes too

CertainGecko · 01/04/2020 19:38

If you mean like the lemon out of a plastic squeezy lemon, yes it works. But not lemon squash/cordial.

Lunafortheloveogod · 01/04/2020 19:38

Pop a mug of water n a squeeze of lemon (fuck it a spoonful?) and cook it for like 4ish minutes so it’s all steamed up.. should loosen it.

Ginfordinner · 01/04/2020 19:38

Put a bowl of water in the microwave with a slice or two of lemon, and microwave on high for a couple of minutes. The steam will help loosen the dirt, then you can wipe it clean.

duffeldaisy · 01/04/2020 19:39

Yes. I've done it with an old half a lemon in a shallow bowl of water.
You just stick it on full blast for a minute and the lemon lets off lemony-flavoured condensation which makes it easier to clean.
The lemon juice in water should do exactly the same, and should work well!

duffeldaisy · 01/04/2020 19:39

*(Might have been 30 seconds - try that first - don't want to overheat the stuff!)

Kitkatandcoffee · 01/04/2020 19:43

The main thing is steam. If you put just water in a bowl let it boil and steam the micro you can then wash with warm soapy water.

longcoffee · 01/04/2020 19:44

I'm considering doing it with my husbands head at the moment. He has quite wiry hair... Will I need lemon too do you think?

Cover the frigging soup bowl you STUPID MAN!

Sorry. As you were.

MrsMozartMkII · 01/04/2020 19:46

Thank you everybody!

I'll give it a go and report back. I've promised it to my DD and really can't give it to her in the state it's in. At least, she says looking on the bright side such as it is, I've a few weeks to get it sorted

OP posts:
MrsMozartMkII · 01/04/2020 19:48

longcoffee would you attach the lemon slices to his hair?

OP posts:
scrivette · 01/04/2020 19:49

Yes it works, stock some in a bowl and microwave until hot and then run with a cloth.

GrolliffetheDragon · 01/04/2020 19:54

I stick my dishcloth in a bowl of water, microwave it long enough that it boils, carefully remove the water and dishcloth then wipe round the inside of the microwave. If it's very dirty I might make the cloth soapy, then wipe out again after. This sterilises my dishcloth as well.

How dirty is your microwave?

Slith · 01/04/2020 19:54

Water and lemon juice in a bowl - zap for 10 minutes. That usually lets you just wipe everything off.

MrsMozartMkII · 01/04/2020 20:08

GrolliffetheDragon It's not good... Nothing crusty per se, more a grease build up. I might take before and after pictures 😳🤪

Redazzy · 01/04/2020 20:21

Lemon and vinegar - any type. Microwave for a minute or until it steams. Wipe clean. Works every time.

Ginfordinner · 01/04/2020 20:32

How long is it since you last cleaned it?

MrsMozartMkII · 01/04/2020 20:33

Ginfordinner No idea. It's not been used in yonks. Just sits there looking forlorn.

OP posts:
JangoInTheFamilyWay · 01/04/2020 20:38

It works but vinegar is more effective. Unfortunately it also stinks and makes you crave fish and chips!

MrsMozartMkII · 01/04/2020 20:40

JangoInTheFamilyWay Hm... Fish and chips are still being delivered. Maybe I can use it as a way of mind controlling dinner tomorrow Grin

OP posts:
EmeraldShamrock · 01/04/2020 20:43

I heat it for about 4 mins, let it cool and heat again it all falls off.

longcoffee · 01/04/2020 20:59

@MrsMozartMkII he’s likely to get them stuck up his nose at this rate Wink

DianaT1969 · 01/04/2020 21:03

Does a tray of lemon and water also work for the oven?
