Mine is Baby One More Time by Britney, don't particularly love it but it reminds me so much of being a carefree teenager, much simpler times! So, what's yours?

Disclaimer - I currently have the Hello song from Something Special going round my head on loop so I NEED to get it out...

Unfinished Sympathy by Massive Attack takes me right back to being dumped by my first boyfriend and playing it over and over on a loop all day until my mum strode I to my bedroom and frisbeed it off the CD player.

Tessie87 · 01/04/2020 20:53

@chockaholic72 the image of the cd being frisbeed has made me chuckle 😂

Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty. I was 14 when it came out in 1978. Mostly I remember lying on the couch all summer , sighing and thinking 'no one understands me' while listening to this song. We have radio 2 on at my workplace and it seems to get played quite a lot still . My workmates are positively fed up with me reminiscing when it comes on!

Elzbells · 01/04/2020 21:20

Massive Attack, Skunk Anansie and Soul 11 Soul albums remind me of my late teens and first boyfriend.

Dina Carroll's album reminds me of my 16th birthday when my best friends made me a birthday dinner and played the cd on a loop.

Those Were the Days : Mary Hopkins

I was 13 but even then knew that I would always be taken back to 13 when I heard it. Even when I was old ---- like 20

Backstreet Love : Curved Air

the lyrics meant so much to a confused 16 year old who wanted to be in love without being like so many friends and stop being me

pinklillie · 01/04/2020 21:40

Crazy by Let Loose!

Reminds me of being just a pre teen and a good summer before senior school started out playing and not having a care in the world

Charley50 · 01/04/2020 21:43

Too many to name but many acid house songs from 1988 still give me goose pimples, and take me right back to my best raving days, especially if I'm with the same group of friends I raved with.

Charley50 · 01/04/2020 21:43

Not songs, choons! 😂

InTheShadowOfTheMushroomCloud · 01/04/2020 21:47

Don't fear the reaper - blue oyster cult

Was always on in the back room of a grotty pub where I would get regularly stoned....early 1980s and I was on the way to terrible times. Luckily a couple of years later I cleaned up.

34 years clean and sober! ( but fucking hell my resolve is being tested at the present moment in time)

Nightswimming by REM - such happy, bittersweet memories of college days and being young

AhoyMrBeaver · 01/04/2020 21:53

Faithless - Insomnia. Takes me straight back to that period of my life that was all about me. No responsibilities, totally hedonistic days.

TulipsInAVase · 01/04/2020 22:00

Cornflake Girl by Tori Amos. Reminds me of being on my gap year, sitting in my room planning a road trip round the US and eating donuts.

APatchyTomCat · 01/04/2020 22:04

Spice Girls - 2 Become 1.

Not because I particularly liked the song, but because it was everywhere when I was painfully, painfully in love for the first time.

Makes my heart hurt now if I hear it.

ChicChicChicChiclana · 01/04/2020 22:05

Summer Breeze by the Isley Brothers. Reminds me of the one who got away every time I hear it.

EllaAlright · 01/04/2020 22:06

Everywhere you go - crowded house. My dad and I used to sing this in his car when I was a child, the first twangy guitar bit of the song really takes me back.

Zisforstripyoss · 01/04/2020 22:06

Love Really Hurts Without You by Billy Ocean - dancing in a crappy cheesy local club with the boy i totally loved - the one who got away, if you will. We were just smiling at each other and having a great time. In the same vein, She Moves in her Own Way by The Kooks. Same boy, different weekend. We were obsessed with that song.

A couple of funky house songs really take me back to raving in the after hours clubs, off my face on something or other. I can almost feel "high" again while hearing them.

Justmuddlingalong · 01/04/2020 22:06

The Communards first album. It was my getting ready to go out album as a 16 year old. I'm 50 now, but that album takes me right back to my teenage bedroom, carefully applying my heather shimmer lipstick. 💋

Lobsterquadrille2 · 01/04/2020 22:09

Hold Me Now - Thompson Twins. I must have been about 14. School discos and glittery blusher/frosted lipstick.

Zisforstripyoss · 01/04/2020 22:11

This one reminds me of Birmingham Pride 2002. Standing at the cross roads on Hurst Street, looking down towards The Village, crowds of people, beautiful weather, just feeling the lurve.

foxyknoxy30 · 01/04/2020 22:18

Back to life soul ll soul ,was a hot summer with my first serious boyfriend

fitflopqueen · 01/04/2020 22:24

Don't go breaking my Heart - Elton & Kiki Dee - takes me back to school ski trip in Italy.

MotherOfAllNameChanges · 01/04/2020 22:49

Teo Torriate and You Take My Breath Away by Queen - memories of sixth form and one lad in particular.

SallyLovesCheese · 01/04/2020 23:24

The New Radicals - 'You Only Get What You Give' - summer of '99, driving around with a car full of mates, school finished after exams for a long summer until uni... Those were the days!
