To think George Alagiah

Has a fabulous fireplace?

I'm spending most of the time when the self isolated/WFH talking heads come on tv, actually checking out the rooms they're in rather than listening to what they're saying.

Am I alone in this?

Very glad George seems ok, by the way.

Grin I do enjoy seeing people’s houses at any time! My colleagues have been putting up fun pictures, plants and stuff!

Tempnamelady · 31/03/2020 18:54

I was thinking how good he looks!

Alsohuman · 31/03/2020 18:54

I thought how nice that room was, not just the fireplace. I might be biased as the red is the same colour as our snug! I found that interview really reassuring. Go George!

JustFrustrated · 31/03/2020 18:55

I thought the same! It's beautiful.

Also have been enjoying the team video calls and having a nosy.

They think my bedroom is very sparse and entirely not what they would have predicted.

We're enjoying nagging our colleague about decorating his house, we think his girlfriend appreciates our input.

MrsBungle · 31/03/2020 18:59

It's gorgeous, his whole living room was lovely.

This is one aspect of this lockdown that I am enjoying - nosing in to people's houses!

Wotrewelookinat · 31/03/2020 19:18

I like looking at interesting art on people’s walls!

TheFaerieQueene · 31/03/2020 19:19

He also has a brilliant dhal recipe.

avrilpoissons · 31/03/2020 19:20

Is it really his room or is it a CGI background?

Bluetrews25 · 31/03/2020 19:27

Yes, lovely home.
And very happy to see he is ok.

Watto1 · 31/03/2020 19:30

Not George Alagiah, but DH was surprised that another BBC reporter was wearing a shirt and tie when reporting from his own home. Not everyone works from home in their pyjamas DH!

WhatsTheFrequencyKennneth · 31/03/2020 19:38

Haha yes I've enjoyed snooping at MPs and presenters homes too

Redshoeblueshoe · 31/03/2020 19:41

I've just said this on another thread, Simon Calder was sitting in front of a massive pile of ironing Grin
George's living room is lovely

Sizeablecontours · 31/03/2020 19:43

Love George - my favourite newsreader - very relieved he is ok.

itsgettingweird · 31/03/2020 19:44

I also keep watching their houses.

The one I loved the most was Edwina Curries.

I was really pleased to watch GA.

I get he was maybe lucky and stats are against people in his category but with 2 parents both having chemo atm it was reassuring it wasn't a garunteed death sentence to get CV-19

Lordfrontpaw · 31/03/2020 19:47

I sit with my back to a nice wall - nice wall lamp, plants and pictures in view...

DH however chooses to sit with piles of laundry, broken lampshade (can’t get anyone in to replace it) and a huge crack down the wall in the background.

Toddlerteaplease · 31/03/2020 19:47

I rather liked his clock!

Toddlerteaplease · 31/03/2020 19:50

I love Him, and Hugh Edwards.

Duchessofblandings · 31/03/2020 19:51

Didn’t see it. Love George though, so glad he’s well now.

Vaginandtonic · 31/03/2020 19:53

He is such a legend, I love him!

eddiemairswife · 31/03/2020 19:56

Do you think that they have a massive tidy-up and select the 'right' books to have on the shelves behind them?

WhereYouLeftIt · 31/03/2020 19:58

I thought this was going to be something about how attractive he is (oh, he really, really is!) Grin

But his fireplace is lovely too! Although I was more caught by the print behind him. TBH I thought it looked a lovely room altogether.

AuntieMarys · 31/03/2020 19:59

Exactly what we said! What a lovely man

Alsohuman · 31/03/2020 20:09

@WhereYouLeftIt, he really is, isn’t he? If the menopause hadn’t stolen my libido, I would!

SnickettyLemon · 31/03/2020 20:12

Very nice room indeed. I’ve worked with him a little and he’s genuinely one of the nicest guys. I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone badmouth him.
