Following on from the Morrisons thread. Marks are now offering one.

Out of stock. But to be honest I’m not that impressed with what’s in it. Not much practically to last.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 31/03/2020 18:30

Well yes lots of people are doing fine health wise, since we are in lockdown and haven’t seen anyone to get COVID 19

Are we now no longer allowed to talk about anything but this virus?

EmbarrassingMama · 31/03/2020 18:34

Scottish shortbread, Dark chocolate, Milk chocolate, Giant milk chocolate buttons, Percy Pigs.

I think you're confusing this box with their 'child's midnight feast' collection box.

cowfacemonkey · 31/03/2020 18:35

Thanks none in stock but I think when they do I'm going to order one for my grandparents and mum.

WombatChocolate · 31/03/2020 18:35

It looks more like one of their Christmas hampers - more treat type food. There's a place for that in these times.

There are a lot of moaners on here. If people don't like the contents they don't have to buy it.

I'm surprised that when any intitiative is announced, a lot of people's first response isn't 'great idea - that will help some people and good that they've come up with the idea so quickly' but instead are so quick to crititicise or only see how it might impact themselves. I'm surprised that lots of people seem to struggle to have any sense of a bigger picture.

alloutoffucks · 31/03/2020 18:41

The kind of food my 90 year old grab would eat. She lives independently, but no longer really cooks.

Frownette · 31/03/2020 18:50

How much was it? Couldn't see the price with the sold out message

Serin · 31/03/2020 18:52

I agree alloutoffucks it's a box for pensioners. I would happily send one to my 86year old mum, who would then give me the tin of veggie curry right back! But she would eat everything else.

BelfryBat · 31/03/2020 18:58

Can I swap the Percys for Colins?

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 31/03/2020 18:59

@Lindy2 when you say nothing happens? What do you mean?

Do you attempt to add the item to your basket after the hour elapses? (wondering about it myself)

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 31/03/2020 19:01

It was £35 but completely sold out now looking at the link

goingoverground · 31/03/2020 19:03

M&S already sell treat type hampers that are much nicer than this one @WombatChocolate This one is being sold as an essentials food box yet there is very little "essential food" in it. It seems very poorly thought out and over priced, which is a shame.

Bubblebu · 31/03/2020 19:24

out of stock.
so is the Morrisons one...

yummymushypeas · 31/03/2020 19:25

If anyone is interested in the contents of the Morrisons food box there are some unboxing videos on YouTube:

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 31/03/2020 19:56

@Lindy2 (and anyone else)

To order the Morrison box you leave the page/tab open for the designated duration( in my case it was 1 hr and 3 mins). Do not close it.

When the time is up nothing will appear to change, however you will now be able to add an item to your basket using the add to basket button (it will become responsive).

Just done it and it works

RoseyPeas · 31/03/2020 20:31

Thanks for this OP.
I looked earlier and they were out of stock, but just tried again and have now ordered one for my parents.

So pleased as I have had no luck at all with online food shopping!

RoseyPeas · 31/03/2020 20:48

It is £35 BTW

Lindy2 · 31/03/2020 22:17

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate

Thank you! I have finally managed to order one. They don't make it very clear do they!

Only a 19 minute queue too which is much shorter than earlier on today when I started trying.

Mimosa1 · 31/03/2020 22:53

Thanks to the person recommending the M&S fruit baskets. I've just ordered one and feeling relieved to be able to get something healthy in as were self isolating and it's very hard to get a delivery slot for the supermarkets near me.

1forsorrow · 31/03/2020 23:06

Mimosa I was thinking of ordering one as well. Just trying to decide if I can spare the money, it does look nice.

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 31/03/2020 23:12

A box of ready meals with a shelf life of a week would be useful for elderly or vulnerable folk on their own.
With some chocs and a pint of milk on the side obviously.

safariboot · 31/03/2020 23:30

Vote YABU because they're now sold out Grin.

AlexaAmbidextra · 31/03/2020 23:58

Out of stock.

CeriseClementine · 01/04/2020 00:21

£35! I think it looks bloody awful for the price tbh.

Am I the only person thinking I could have got better in Lidl for £12.50? Shock

I love buying a few odd bits from M&S and it definitely has its place...I just can't fathom why anyone would be willing to spend that much on those contents tbh.
