To not know how best to delete a Whatsapp group.

So I set up an extended family WhatsApp group several years ago. It is not heavily used but unfortunately a couple of members are annoying and inappropriate when they do use it so I just want to delete the group. They can contact each other separately.

I can only see how to remove members...is there a way to delete the group?

Can you not just leave it

You can just archive the chat, I don't think they will be any the wiser and you won't see the messages anymore

Remove each member one by one and then use the "Exit Group" option. Then swipe left along the chat and "Delete Group"

Make one of the users the administrator and leave yourself

Just leave the group. WhatsApp will randomly assign another group member as admin I think. No need to delete it for everyone else just because you're done with it.

Wish I'd known about muting.
I left the WhatsApp group for my apartment block just before this all started because of inappropriate messaging.
No dire need at the moment, and I can still contact individual neighbours if I needed to, but kind of regretting it a bit now, would like to be more in touch.

You can't leave a group you made without another admin in the group.

Easiest way to do it would be to just delete the entire group.

Make everyone else admins and then leave.
