Posting here for traffic.

I'm ok the phone to 111 but been an hour so far and still waiting just wanted to get some opinions.

Last Sunday my 4 year old got diagnosed with tonsillitis over the phone (GP hub) got given antibiotics which he's been on for 8 days and seemed to be getting better however his temperature has shot back up in the last 24 hours and is 39.5 without paracetamol, 38.1 when he has paracetamol.
He woke up last night vomiting and with a headache, had been complaining of a headache all day, neither paracetamol or nurofen for kids seems to be working. He is saying his eyes hurt and that he is cold but he is very got to touch.
My question is do you think I should give up on 111 and just take him to a&e or would that be a massive over reaction on my part?

GaaaaarlicBread · 05/04/2020 22:32

Any news OP ? I had this 10 weeks ago , I came on here as I was told I had tonsillitis but it wouldn’t go away, I had numerous antibiotics , rushed into hospital eventually with a fever of 42, (I’m also pregnant), started having seizures , was vomiting etc and treated for sepsis . They’re now telling me that it was the corona virus !! I was so so poorly , I’ve only just recovered from the awful cough and lung issues that came with it. I really hope he’s ok . Please update us x

I hope he's ok Brew

Holdencaulfieldshomeboy · 06/04/2020 19:57

I don't think OP is coming back.

Duchessofblandings · 06/04/2020 20:03

So glad OP went to A&E, been worrying ever since reading that their little one’s eyes we’re hurting.

There was an NHS message posted on MN the other day, urging people to be vigilant for other childhood diseases during this awful situation, they won’t just go away.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 06/04/2020 21:00

Take him to A&E, if you can drive I’d take him yourself, if not ask a family member or wise case call an ambulance.

summerfruitssquash · 06/04/2020 22:12

@HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend she took him to A&E

StarUtopia · 06/04/2020 22:15

Fucks sake. That's to the people saying wait until 111 answers.

Drive him to A+E now. Most hospitals have separate children's a+e. He will be seen immediately and no you won't be wasting their time.

Mooey89 · 06/04/2020 22:24

Hope he’s on the mend op
