To call the doctors?!

I just don’t know what to do anymore. Relatively healthy other than a POUNDING headache that hasn’t stopped for nearly two weeks. No painkillers help, but a cold compress does the trick for about 10 minutes before it’s back with a vengeance. Never had migraines or anything before so not sure if it’s that.

It’s driving me up the effing wall. I know doctors will be super busy so not sure whether I should just carry on with it and hope it goes. Any home remedies for headaches other than lobbing my own head off?

Also wondering if it’s just stress/being cooped up inside. Anyone else got an unbearable headache?

After two weeks yes I think you should speak to a doctor. Have you tried phoning your surgery? Mine are doing phone appointments in the first instance, and then if they need to see you they book you a face to face appointment. Hopefully yours will do the same.

Call them! I think if a headache lasts over 3 days (something like that!) then you should seek medical advice. After 2 weeks absolutely. Hope it gets better OP Flowers

You need to speak to your GP as this not normal. I get migraines but not lasting for weeks (in any case a new onset of migraine when you’ve never had it before would warrant a GP visit / call).

Have you taken painkillers everyday? Occasionally, you can get medication overuse or rebound headaches from painkillers.

However, I would rule out other things with your GP.

Ring the doctor

I’m also saying ring the doctor. Urgently.

Just quickly, does it keep you awake at night or does it seem to ease when you’re asleep?

DrierThanANunsNasty · 30/03/2020 15:47

Ah I thought I’d be told to jog on. Will call them tomorrow then.

Doesn’t get any better with sleep. If I try to nap it off I wake up with it ten times worse or just can’t nap as it hurts so much.

Yes I’d say it’s reasonable after 2wks. Good luck

It could be hay fever. Mine had started with a vengeance. It could be worth trying some anti histamines.
