Continue isolation?

My family and I have been socially isolating as my husband and I had some symptoms. Our period of isolation is almost finished however one of my children developed a fever yesterday. My understanding is, given there’s no way of us knowing if we’ve had CV or not, the whole family must now start another 14 day period of isolation as per the guidelines. Some people are telling me we don’t need to do this but I think the guidelines are clear that we do. What do you think?

There are guidelines somewhere with a diagram I will try to find it

Aragog · 30/03/2020 08:52

Under the model that's been posted you don't reset the 14 days.

Coldilox · 30/03/2020 08:53

That child has to continue to isolate for 7 days. Nobody else has to go hometowns the original 14

slipperywhensparticus · 30/03/2020 08:54

Cant find the diagram but this is what gov says

Continue isolation?

Yes isolate for another 14 days. You can still be contagious after 7-14 days, it’s been proven you can be contagious up to around 21-24 days after having it even when you’ve recovered. Best to be safe than sorry.

Thanks all! Thanks @slipperywhensparticus and @Aragog...I had seen the chart before but I think it can be misinterpreted...the wording is very clear though which is really helpful. We weren’t at the very end of isolation so I think as @GinDrinker00 says, better to be safe than sorry. Thanks peeps
