To be completely rearranging my Lounge

RainbowMum11 · 30/03/2020 02:01

I have lived here since my divorce nearly 4 years ago.
I have recently become self employed and working from home so my storage needs have changed.
As I can't do a great deal of work at the moment, and after 2 weeks with me, DD has gone to her dads, I am considering a massive overhaul of our lounge.

Is anyone else thinking of doing similar?

It seems like everyone is clearing out, reorganising or decorating just for something to do!

Go for it.

I've decorated and now I'm moving my bedroom around, it passes the time Grin

I have started on a massive repainting job at home as I've little else to do. I'm just glad I got all my paint and supplies before the shops closed. Household painter and decorator is my new job until I can go back to work. I'm enjoying it!

Handy tip from me, living by myself and moving furniture around.

Measure your room, measure your furniture. Scale down your room on a piece of paper. Make cutouts of your furniture on the same scale. Then you can place where you are thinking of moving stuff to to make sure once it's all in place you can still walk through etc and that it works how you think it will. Use blu tak or a little bit of sticky tape folded on itself to hold in place.

Nothing worse than moving everything around and then not liking it. I've got good visualisation so can picture what the paper room will look like.

I did my kitchen/ living room on the first day of lock down. I moved the table into the window where I planned to work on my laptop. I think it's instinctive to want to nest when you know you're going to be stuck at home for weeks on end.
