Aibu to think that Joe Exotic should be released from prison, and Carole Baskin locked up in his place? 😁

OP posts:
Fatdoggle · 28/03/2020 23:55

Joe and Carole are both trash. Carole was just far cleverer.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 28/03/2020 23:59

Turns out she is a he now.

Carole? She’s transgender?

HeIsAVeryBadBoy · 29/03/2020 00:05

Wibble

Whaaaaaaaaaaa?!?!?!?!

wibblewobblejiggle · 29/03/2020 00:11

No lol
The girl with one arm. Can't remember the name.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 29/03/2020 00:13

Oh yes! That doesn’t surprise me tbh. I thought she might have been.

Chiyo666 · 29/03/2020 00:13

Oh. Well that was kinda obvious Grin

HeIsAVeryBadBoy · 29/03/2020 00:33

Veternari you defended Joe at court? But now you are against him?

HeIsAVeryBadBoy · 29/03/2020 00:34

Veternari - sorry, just read your post properly. Ignore me (it's late and I'm tired) Grin

I wondered why one of Joe's ex-pals was on MN for a minute there!

RoomOfRequirement · 29/03/2020 00:45

I couldn't get into it. I don't have the patience to listen to stupid people and he was one of the worst.

And he should have been arrested the first time he threatened her - there were recordings! - but no, instead people laugh and pay him. The way the world ignores threats of violence against women disgusts me and I just could not enjoy the show.

wibblewobblejiggle · 29/03/2020 00:46

I mean...this woman did feed her husband to tigers so 🤷‍♀️

RoomOfRequirement · 29/03/2020 00:50

Not only is there no evidence of that, the fact you think that justifies men being violent to women I awful.

Fuck sake no wonder no one takes it seriously.

MayDayHelp · 29/03/2020 00:51

Just finished watching. Still got no idea what the hell was going on. It’s weird as fuck Grin

wibblewobblejiggle · 29/03/2020 00:53

She definitely did it.

Maybe not the tiger but she definitely offed him.
And I think she is a terrible person and just as bad as him.

Their sex doesn't have anything to do with it.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 29/03/2020 02:06

I’m not convinced she killed him at all. She definitely helped him disappear though.

Fatdoggle · 29/03/2020 02:09

She fed her husband to the tigers!

Sushiroller · 29/03/2020 02:12

The way joe treated both those boys he kept marrying and those animals was unspeakable.
The film footage of travis and his behaviour at the funeral was horrendous.
And i can never unsee him dragging poor new born tiger across the pen and squeezing it through the cage grill -just heart breaking.
His treatment of carole was jaw dropping awful/horrifying/terrifying
Carole has been found guilty of nothing. Netflix loves to put a spin on things and yes she is eccentric but she was a young vulnerable woman who by the looks of it left one abuser for another. The husband was 20 years older couldnt keep his dick in his pants and was at least mildly abusive. She was convicted of nothing and the exwife and her sisters children come off as wildly embittered and angry about the inheritance.

Fatdoggle · 29/03/2020 02:30

The footage of those babies being dragged away from their mothers was heartbreaking. Joe is absolutely trash. I do not think Carole is innocent. Her own grounds for the animals were not great. She clearly gave no fucks about her husband’s whereabouts. That’s not normal. If I hated my husband and he just disappeared, that would intrigue me forever. She gave no shits whatsoever.

Veterinari · 29/03/2020 09:13

I always find it interesting when people like @wibblewobblejiggle and @Jumpingforgin 'know' more from watching a series on Netflix than the people who were actually there Confused

But then I think victim blaming is easier than critical thinking

BlackCatSleeping · 29/03/2020 09:31

I agree with Veterinari. Carole has done nothing wrong and she was absolutely right to go after Joe for how he was behaving. There is no evidence whatsoever that Carole was involved in her husband's disappearance.Joe, Jeff and Doc Antle are all scumbags, but there was nothing to vilify Carole over, except rumours and hearsay.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 29/03/2020 09:42

I’m in episode 3

They are both very egotistical characters

It’s certainly entertaining and good diversion at the moment

Jumpingforgin · 29/03/2020 09:52

@veterinari at what point did I say I knew more than the people who were actually there!? It was a light-hearted post as I enjoyed watching the series, but it does really depict him as being set up (thrown to the Tigers so to speak!) And, yes, animal cruelty wasn't great, but if they arrested/imprisoned everyone for that, then pretty much everyone in that programme should be locked up! The animal cruelty charges were added to his crimes, when they realised that alone, the murder to hire charges wouldn't have stood up on their own. That's a fact, the dates of the accusations prove that.
I'm astounded that Jeff, the hitman, and James, who were all clearly in on the "murder", got away with no charges, when their roles were so crucial to the entire plot. I'm not saying he should walk free, he wasn't a particularly stand up citizen 😂, but what he was arrested and charged for does seem unfair when everyone else got away with not so much as even being questioned. He was clearly so set up and goaded towards the end, by the people he thought he could trust. They basically organised the fake murder and because he agreed to it, he got arrested. Yes he was wrong, of course he was, but it is undeniably unfair that no one else has been even trialed for their part in it.
Carole Baskin quite obviously did "something" to her husband, you'd be extremely naive to think otherwise.

So, we should not charge abusive murderers because it's not fair to them when others get away with crimes Confused
Great basis for a criminal justice system.

And you 'know' this based on watching a Netflix docudrama. Sure, I'm the naive one Grin

I really do think netflix cut it to make it look that way. I think you are naive not to employ any critical thinking.

Veterinari · 29/03/2020 10:37

@Fatdoggle if by giving no shits you mean cooperated fully with the police investigation and then hired her own private investigator to try and find him, I guess you're right.
