Well, yes, I know I am really! But I'm honestly so excited about it! It's the

and I love it!

I am also getting the matching toaster (does that make it better?!)

Please tell me I am not the only one to get excited over such mundanity? Has anyone else ever asked for a similarly "exciting" present?

That's a lovely kettle!

I saw someone ask the other day "What's the first thing you will treat yourself to when all of this is over" my first treat will be a new vacuum, which is pretty fecking sad, I'll have roots to my shoulders and eyebrows like sweeping brushes but i'll treat myself to a new vacuum, who am I?

altiara · 28/03/2020 22:26

Just split up with husband last month, said he could have toaster and kettle and then I frivolously bought the Emma bridgewater kettle and toaster as I was getting my bonus in March. At least its worth the ridiculous amount I spent now I am home all of the time staring at them!

Vgbeat · 28/03/2020 22:54

@CalmdownJanet I've been looking at vacuums today as I've realised today mine couldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding.

Amiable · 28/03/2020 23:02

@altiara did you get the polka dot one, or the Toast one? They are both lovely! I wanted a blue/turquoise one to go with the kitchen tiles, but was considering the polka dot one too.

Can you afford to buy yourself something more personal too?

Gemma2019 · 28/03/2020 23:12

Get the kettle but it shouldn't be a birthday gift, unless you are really struggling for money. It's an essential item not a gift!

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 28/03/2020 23:16

Yanbu! I got myself soil once😂

That is a really pretty kettle!

copperoliver · 28/03/2020 23:36

I've had a hoover for Christmas before now. You'd rather have a present you want, than something you don't. X

Elieza · 28/03/2020 23:49

I got a duvet cover I begged for as part of my big birthday!

SquashedSpring · 28/03/2020 23:51

Not at all! I asked for a pastry board for one of my big birthdays and I love it as much now as I did then.

ViciousJackdaw · 28/03/2020 23:54

That's a lovely colour - should help with morale. I asked for a frying pan once. Still in good nick 12 years on though.

Holothane · 29/03/2020 00:35

Lovely no your not weird I’m having a glitter rose gold one with toaster from the range for mine, for my 50th I wanted no shows or party I don’t drink, I saved up for 5 years and brought myself a 65 inch tv for the bedroom I’m registered blind so my pride and joy.

ozymandiusking · 29/03/2020 00:43

Love the colour.

bucketofgin · 29/03/2020 02:33

I have that kettle and toaster - they are gorgeous. DH bought them for me when we moved house. They make me happy every time I look at them. I hope you enjoy yours!

MiniMum97 · 29/03/2020 02:56

The kettle link is not working for me. Just get the Amazon home page. Can you post a pic? I want to see the kettle!!

Mumdiva99 · 29/03/2020 05:20

Gorgeous colour. I got a Kenwood food processor from my parents for my 21st. My uni friend laughed and laughed as she got a leather jacket). I'm now 45 and the food processor is still going strong.

MrsMonkeyBear · 29/03/2020 05:54

I got a new kettle and toaster for Christmas from my in laws. Now my kitchen appliances almost all match in colour.

altiara · 29/03/2020 10:49

@Amiable it’s the polka dot one. Beautiful!
But also love the teal colour that you want!

Amiable · 29/03/2020 18:07

Yay, it is my birthday today, and they are even better that I hoped! I have smiled every time I walked into the kitchen, and have had about 7 cups of tea so I can use the kettle! 😁😁

They look different colours because of the light, the photo with the kettle shows it better
