To put John Lewis return in normal postbox?

It has a prepaid return sticker on and I would usually take to post office, but can I just stick it in the normal post box?

I know they have extended the returns period but I could do with the money back asap as I ordered several sizes of items to try on.

But you won’t have a proof of postage if it was “lost in the post”

No that’s the downside of doing it that way.

Ive got 2 little ones and so doubt I will be allowed in the post office. We’re not allowed in the supermarkets here now either.

Some post offices are still open. Mostly ones in convenience stores.
Take a picture or video of you putting it into the post box. Make sure you get a good look at the label while doing it. I've put an Asos parcel into a post box before and I got a refund so it must have worked ok.

The sorting office will separate the post out, so don't worry on that score.
