We all need to switch off?

We need to know what's happening. We need to make sure we know the rules and where we are at but. .... It's so important people try and forget for a while. My Facebook newsfeed is absolutely covered in tragic deaths, NHS posts, news reports, lockdown tips, local support groups, people ranting about supermarkets (quite rightly). It was making me feel stressed. I wasn't sleeping great.

Yesterday after tea I put grease on. (Film) my kids were dancing about to the music and it actually lifted me massively. Such a simple thing but it just made me switch off from the misery.

I think we all need a breather? I usually take a good bashing for 99% of what I post on aibu? But..... If anyone is struggling with the media. I do recommend putting on your music. Watching your favourite films. Having a family game day. Look through old holiday pictures and plan what you will do next year. I know it's hard but we need to keep sane.

Has anyone else got any suggestions for people? There's lots of great ideas for kids. But we also need to remember ourselves a little and how to switch off.

Been trying to take a break but my dd hasn't stopped talking all day for 2 weeks. My ears hurt. I want to go back to work from sick leave early.

I came off Facebook after Christmas as a phone detox. I only look at the news app once a day. It's really improved my mental health. I've been introducing the kids to Spotify and some great albums, stuff they wouldn't usually listen to. I need to start a separate thread about that actually.....
